What is the Black Fraternal Council?
We, the representatives of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha,
Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Sigma Gamma
Rho and Zeta Phi Beta recognizing the need for unity and coordination of activities of inter-collegiate historically
Black greek letter fraternities and sororities, and recognizing that there are certain areas of actiona and programming that
can best be carried out by the joint efforts of all such organizations, and believing that these needs can
best be realized by formal organization.
The purpose of this organization shall be to further the best interest of the historically
black greek letter fraternities and sororities through representation in both University and Charlottesville
communities and through an active interest in matters of common concern
and to concentrate on creating opportunities for interaction among member organizations.
Mission of the Black Fraternal Council

respective organizations were founded, while striving to achieve greater unity within the African-American Community"
