IFSM 438 - Project Management
Individual Term Project
- The Individual Student Project will allow the student to define the scope of a project, network the activities,
plan the implementation, schedule activities and resources and publish a high level project plan.
The plan will be from 10 - 15 pages in length.
- The student will use the Project Plan Elements as defined in chapter five of the text.
The following elements will be included as a minimum to the student project plan:
- Overview
- Objectives
- General Approach
- Network (CPM)
- Schedules
- Resources (to include budget)
- Personnel
- Potential problems
This list is not to be considered as limiting. Other items may be
added as the planner sees the need to describe his/her project.
- The student will use the Project Management Software Package adopted as a result of the analysis done
in Assignment 1. This S/W will be used to create the Project Network, Resource Allocation, and Master Schedule.
- The project will be not less than 100 activities long and be modeled from "real world" scenarios.
- Examplesof projects are installation of a lan, demolition and replacement of facilities, remodeling of a
computer center, and design and implementation of a web based business.
- Deadline for the project is Sunday, the beginning of week 16.
