Assignment #1:
Subject: Final Project Proposal, and Management Software Review
Date Due: See schedule.
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to have the
Project Team provide their final project topic and familiarize
themselves with the project management software they will
be using to complete the course project.
Deliverables:
1. Cover page.
2. Tentative project topic. (One and one half to two pages)
3. Review as described. (Two to three pages)
Requirements:
1. You are to provide an overview of the project
management software you have decided to use for this course.(See Below)
2. As a minimum the review will include:
a. A summary of the major features of the soft ware.
b. Comments about program installation, as appropriate.
c.Comments about the documentation.
d. Comments about sample data file printouts.
e. Comments about apparent advantages and disadvantages of
the software.
3. The final project topic will consist of a tentative
project title, purpose, and list of objectives. (I will
give you an approval or disapproval for topic picked. I
must approve final project topic.)

Sources of Project Management Software
Shareware software can obtained from the Internet through the use of search engines
such as hotbot.com. Microsoft Project Manager is a commercial S/W package used by many
project teams. What ever PM S/W package you choose, make sure that you evaluate and report on
at least three S/W packages for a minimum of 10 attributes.
