Adjudication Information
There will be 6 judges for Band, in 3 categories: Music (2), Marching (2), and General Effect (2). There will be 4 Caption judges: 1 each for Percussion, Color Guard, Auxilliary (Dance Line/Majorettes), and Drum Major.
The judges will award each performing band both an announced Festival rating (I-Superior, II-Excellent, etc...) and an unannounced numerical score (0.0 - 100.0) during the Prelims portion of the event. The Finals competition will be Open Class, with numerical scores only.
The judges will be the same for both Prelims and Finals, although the adjudication criteria will change slightly to reflect the nature of both FESTIVAL and COMPETITION formats. The 1999 Adjudication Panel has not yet been finalized, but you may view the 1998 Southern Classic Adjudication Panel here.
