Welcome, EN Alumni!
This is Gary Lewis, EN Alumni Secretary for the 1999-2000 school year. I hope you have found the update to the rest of the EN website to be to your liking, and I promise that the new alumni area will be well worth the wait!
Response to our alumni survey has been incredible. With it, we have been able to find several "lost" alumni and update many others' information. Coming soon will be an online list of all of EN's lost alumni. Once this is up, I would ask that you check this list against any addresses or numbers you might have. Sometimes it seems that more of our alumni are lost than found. With your help, we can change that.
If you have not filled out the alumni survey, please do so. It won't take much time, and doing so will help us accomplish the following:
- Address Updates - If you haven't been receiving our alumni newsletter, The Fraternal Spirit, then we may not have your correct address in our records. Filling out the alumni survey is the easiest way to insure your information is correct in our database.
- Family Trees - For several years, the Epsilon Nu chapter has been attempting to trace our family trees as far back as possible. If you remember the names of your big and little brothers, you can help us tremendously, especially if you pledged before 1986.
- Alumni Profiles - Over its 47 years, the Epsilon Nu chapter has seen literally hundreds of Brothers come through its hallowed halls. Help us to put a face on all those names by telling us what you have been up to since moving up to alumni status!
- School Database - We want to make sure that those of you who are band or choral directors know about all of our programs during the school year. Tell us the name and address of your school, and we'll make sure you receive our mailings!
Thanks for any assistance you can give us! We hope to hear from you soon!
Once a Sinfonian, Always a Sinfonian, Long Live Sinfonia!
Fraternally,
Bro. Gary W. Lewis
Alumni Secretary
Our old online newsletter is no longer operational, since the company that provided it went out of business. However, we have begun a new mailing list, this time maintained the good, old-fashioned way... by hand. If you would like to be added to the list, simply e-mail the List Administrator and request to be added. This list will allow us to provide you with the most up-to-date information possible regarding Sinfonia, Jacksonville State, and the Epsilon Nu chapter.
Please note that we have several different list options available. They are:
- A SECURE LIST, which will only be sent to CONFIRMED SINFONIANS who are reasonably sure that non-Sinfonians do not have access to their e-mail. To be added to this list, please provide key data, such as your full name, initiation date (as accurately as you remember), and any key phrases that you feel will prove you are a Sinfonian. This list will contain detailed information regarding probationary functions and activities, as well as other information not meant for public posting.
- A NON-SECURE LIST, which will be sent to any interested people, Sinfonian or not. This list is designed to provide the same basic information as is found on this website to those Brothers who share e-mail accounts with spouses, co-workers, or other non-Sinfonians. It will NOT contain any detailed information regarding the probationary period, other than public information such as the names of those prospective members accepting bids after the smoker.
- An EMERGENCY-ONLY LIST, which will only contain vital news concerning the welfare of the Chapter or the University. Because of the nature of this list, it is subject to the same SINFONIAN-ONLY rules as the SECURE LIST. This list is designed for those Brothers who, due to geographical distance from Alabama, e-mail server restrictions, or any other reason, choose not to receive regular updates about the Chapter's activities, but who wish to be notified in the event of an emergency situation concerning the chapter, such as the 1989 fire which claimed the old House.
For those of you are concerned about the volume of mail you might receive, updates would generally only be sent out 5 to 10 times per semester. This is NOT a listserv, where all subscribers would be free to post to the list. Rather, it is operated purely as a way for the Chapter to communicate with our Alumni Brothers on a regular basis, in real time, without the "secrecy" problems that confront us on the web page. For those of you who are interested in an Epsilon Nu listserv, we are currently investigating this option, and may add one in the future.
We hope you will take advantage of the mailing lists. As always, if you do subscribe, please continue to let us know when your e-mail address changes! And if you ever wish to unsubscribe or be moved to a different list, just contact the List Administrator, and he will be glad to make the change.
