Sorbo's Quest is a role-playing game for the TI-92 graphing calculator.
This program requires Fargo 0.1.13 to be installed on your calculator.
You can get Fargo and all Fargo libraries at:
  http://www.ticalc.org

The newest version of Sorbo's Quest will always be availible here:
  http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Park/1809/

------------
 INSTALLING
------------
1) First install Fargo. See fargo.txt for instructions.
2) Send the following files to your calc:

  sorbo.92p     27093 bytes
  sorbolib.92p  3965 bytes
                (total of 31058 bytes)

  graylib.92p - These four libraries can be found at
  flib.92p         http://www.ticalc.org
  romlib.92p
  fargray.92p

3) Before executing Sorbo, make sure you have enough free memory for
   grayscale and for the game to initialize (around 10k.)

---------
 PLAYING
---------
When you start the game for the first time, you will see the opening
sequence. It's a good idea to read it so that you will understand
the game's story. It will not be automatically shown again.

You control the main character, Sorbo. As you play the game, your
progress is automatically saved in the 'sorbo' program. Only one game
can be stored at a time. The 'sorbolib' PRGM variable does not contain
any game data. In order to start a new game you must resend the
original sorbo.92p file.

-----------
 CONTROLS
-----------
//
// When navigating the Map:
//

  Control Pad Movement - You can move Sorbo in four directions.

  F2, F3, F4 Use Items - Certain items in your inventory can be
                 used. They will appear on the bottom right side of
                 your screen.

  F5 Small steps - Let's you take one step at a time.
                 Useful when you need to line up between two objects.
                 To use, just hold F5 and press the Contol Pad.

  q Quit - Quits and saves your game.

//
// In Battle:
//

  F1             Attack with your weapon

  F2 Flee - This is not always successful and you cannot
                 flee from some enemies.

  F3 Talk - Try it... only works with a few enemies.

//
// When Talking:
//

  F5 and F6 Used to answer questions.

-------------
 STATUS INFO
-------------

On the right side of the screen is info about your character:

LV: Current character level. At higher levels you get more maxhp and
    defense. Also, some tasks cannot be accomplished until you
    reach a certain level.
HP: Current Hit Points. If you lose all your hit points, you will
    return to your starting point, lose 3/4 of your gold and start
    with 1/2 your max HP.
 /: The maximum number of hit points you are allowed.
EP: Experience points. You get these for winning battles. Tougher
    enemies give you more ep. You get to higher levels by gaining EP.
$$: Amount of currency you have. Get more by winning battles.
ST: Strength in battle.
DF: Defensive level in battle.
WP: Weapon you are carrying.

Items you are carrying are also listed here as you get them, along
with the key for the item. Items without a key are automatically
used at the appropriate time.

-----
Hints
-----
- Most of the game centers around building your stats by fighting
  various characters. Expect to do a lot of fighting before you are
  strong enough to explore the entire map.
- Many characters won't help you till you've fulfilled certain
  conditions.
- Practice using small steps to line up between objects. You will
  need to use small steps in the late stages of the game.
- Some of the items are purposely hidden. Look everywhere!
- If you manage to beat the game, please send me an email, just
  because I'd like to congratulate you! (and because I'm curious to
  see if anyone can do it :)

-----------
 BUGS, ETC
-----------
  None known, but the game is so large that there's probably something
I've missed. Please report bugs to x96barnes3@wmich.edu
  There is always the possibility that a program will crash your
