Jure Kosir is my favourite Slovenian skier. Hence, a small page for him-I can't neglect my interests!
What do I know about him?
A few boring facts:
A few nice links:
A prominent skier on the World Cup, the last few seasons haven't been as succesful as previous ones, although he had a stellar 98/99 season. However, he remains one of Slovenia's best male skiers. But things have definately picked up this season, with two wins in slalom, one in front of the home crowd in Kranjska Gora! This is quite an accomplishment, since he is only other win came five years ago, in 1993. So currently, he is ranked second in slalom. Primarily a slalom specialist, he also skis the giant slalom, and in the 1994/95 season came second overall in this event. It was in this same season that he ranked 3rd overall. In fact, he was in second place, right behind Alberto Tomba, until the last race, in which his ski pole broke. Thus, Guenther Mader came second instead. Also, not to be forgotten, he won one of Slovenia's three bronze medals in the slalom at the Lillehammer Winter Olympics. As I think of more, I'll write more. Unfortunately, I don't know much about him since the 1995 season, since I moved to Belgium and lost access to newspapers that report intelligently on skiing.
One of my favourite pictures. Skiing a slalom.
