Charles Bowkley has been selected for this profile for his outstanding service to the chapter and community while maintaining high scholastic standards. Chuck currently has a 3.6 cummulative GPA after two years as a Biology Major. At present, Chuck is the assistant pledge educator and philanthropy chair for the house. He initiated Gamma Chi's first blood drive last spring and has been busy organizing its second one, set to occur November 17th and 18th. He has also been active on the Fraternity and Sorority Council, being on the Standards Caucus freshman year and on the Philanthropy Caucus his sophomore year. On top of his service to the greek community, Chuck volunteers for the "Helpline". This community service is for suicide intervention, crisis intervention, and para-professional counseling. Chucks main focus while at UCSB has been scholastics and he has been very successful. He is in the Honor's College and has been selected as the vice-president of the upcoming Pre-Med Association of campus. Charles recently took the MCAT and plans on attending medical school after graduation.
In his spare time Chuck enjoys lifting weights (six days a week) and was certified as a personal trainer at the age of 18. He has laso been active in other sports. Chuck completed his first triathalon this past August, and the Santa Barbara Triathalon. In high school, Chuck participated in four different sports: Track and Field, Wrestling, Football and Gymnastics. He has been able to continue with football, playing on Fiji's football team for the Sigma Phi Epsilon annual tournament. Charles truly demonstrates the values of a true Gamma Chi through his excellent grades and service to the fraternity and community.
