Antioch Commitment Mass

After 5 months into the Programme, participants of the New Antioch have been divided into the 4 ministries. It was a time to affirm their commitment to this group.
The Antioch Mass was held in Nativity Church Centre on 25th May '97, where students of all levels from Sec 1 and Sec 4 were involved in the Mass.

The Antioch Commitment Mass was celebrated by Fr Kenson Koh.

The Mass was prepared mainly by the students. Commentators and the Guitarists for the Mass have rehearsed weeks before the Mass just to get their acts right.

During the Mass, the youths have put up special items, like the Offertory Dance "Take My Life" ......

...... And "The Antioch Pledge", a song written by our Programme Co-ordinator Dominic Phoon.

During Offertory, the youths also presented a picture of a garden full of leaves. Written on each leaf is the prayer intention of the youths in The New Antioch. We hoped that since the Programme focuses on community, we would be able to offer up all our prayers to God as a community through this offertory gift.

At the end, smiles were written on the faces of all youths as the Mass ended with Fr Kenson gave a short sharing on what it means to be committed in a community of youths. He was presented with a framed copy of "The Antioch Pledge" signed by all youths in The New Antioch.
