"T J" Cloward

ΚΚ "T J" Cloward, dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend died of cancer April 25, 1993 at his home. He has fought a brave fight and now his tired body is free from pain. His spirit has returned to our Father in Heaven, who gave him life.

ΚΚ He was born December 10, 1921 to Thomas Junior Cloward and Laura Mae Staheli in Payson, Utah. He married Joyce Johnson, his high school sweetheart, on February 27, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple.

ΚΚ He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Jerry J. (Deborah) Cloward; daughters, Mrs. James D. (Karen) Wright, Mrs. Eric J. (Janette) Fawcett, Wendy Cloward, Diane C. Hart, Suzanne C. Williams, Mrs. Jeff A. (Julie) Jensen; 23 grandchildren; all of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers, Don S. Cloward, Wells P. Cloward and sisters, Mrs. Lyle C. Thomas and Mrs. Rhea C. McBeth.

ΚΚ He graduated from Payson High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Industrial Arts from Utah State University. He served in the Coast Guard/Navy during World War II in the Pacific area. He was a teacher and building contractor in the Salt Lake area most of his adult life. He was one of the three teachers to start the Building Construction Vocational Program in the area high schools.

ΚΚ He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served as a Young Mens leader, Sunday School superintendent, presidency of the Stake Seventies Quorum and as a High Priest Group leader. He served a stake mission and later served in the Spokane Washington Mission with his wife.

ΚΚ Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 28, 1993 at 12 noon in the 27th East Ward Chapel (Federal Heights Building), 1300 East Fairfax Road (approx. 1350 East 300 North). Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 2nd East, Salt Lake City at 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to the services at the ward. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
