Lynn Dee Cloward

Lynn Dee Cloward, 74, died Monday at his home in Salem after a brief illness. He was born Mar. 19, 1893, in Salem, a son of John M. and Stacy Lee Stone Cloward. He received his education in the Salem schools. Mr. Cloward married Ruth Sheen on Nov. 4, 1910 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died March 14, 1961. On June 22, 1963, he married Edna Whithead Bently.
He was a farmer and stockman in Salem and was watermaster for the Salem Canal for 18 years. Mr. Cloward was a former Salem City Councilman. An active member of the LDS Church, he held the office of high priest. He had made his home in St. George for the past few years where he devoted his time to working in the St. George Temple.

Survivors include his widow; three daughters and one son; Mrs. Molan (Lois) Roper and Lynn D. Cloward Jr., both of Salem; Mrs. Dean (Fern) Peterson, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Pat (Nelda) Connolly, Cardiff, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Ivy) Davis, Salem and Mrs. Pet (Eva) Bush, Rosemead, Calif.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., in Salem Ward Chapel, with Bishop Ray Morley officiating. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Spanish Fork Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday at the Ward Relief Society Room prior to the services. Burial will be at the Salem City Cemetery.
