George L. Cloward, Sr.

(WENDOVER, Utah)

George L. Cloward, Sr., our beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father on December 9, 1997.

ÊÊ He was born May 4, 1920 in Chilly, Idaho to George L. and Ruth Ann Cloward. He was raised in Mackay, Idaho before serving in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1940-1944. On April 9, 1949 he married Maxine Wray in Elko, Nevada. They moved to Wendover in 1952. He was employed by the State Line for 45 years. He was a member of the LDS Church.

He is survived by four sisters, Bonnie, Erma, Bessie, June; two brothers, Robert and Ray; his wife of 48 years; five children, Byron (Linda) Stone, West Valley City; Sharon (Mike) Spillman; Rae Lynn (Phil) Gregory; Debra (Dennis) Sweat; George Cloward, Jr., all of Wendover; 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and many wonderful friends. Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

ÊÊ Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 12, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Wendover LDS Ward, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment, Wendover City Cemetery.
