I received a couple of emails from a few guys who found out a way to get the old Nintendo games to work almost perfectly. Here they are.

Hey dude nice site. Heres a little bit of info you may or may not have known. The original nintendos had a loading dock problem. Over time, and i mean years, it would start to give out. Hence why they remade the newer version. Well the games never loaded properly after it gave. The screen would blink or just not work. Well folks would blow on the games or push them in harder. Well if this happens to you this is what ya do. Put the game in so that that a little , very little, of it sticks out. That way when you push it down, it'll rub the edge and go down a little rough. This will ensure that the game loads properly. Works everytime and stops you from bying a new system or getting it repaired. also instead of blowing on games or system , use a blowdryer on the control panel. Got that straight out of nintendos mouth. Better way to remove dust.. Enjoy the game playing.. Tim

The NES was made with a chip called the lockout chip, it was made to provent bootleging softare, unfortunately, this "chip" became a bug because it would start to not recognize these games and think they were fakes, therefore, it wouldn't load. There are a couple of ways to disable this chip, One is to take the unit apart and cut some of the lockout chip wires off, this is very, very risky, though since you have to know what chip you're cutting, and if you cut the wrong wire, the NES will shut down and never work again. The second one is to,just as the other guy said, put the cartrige in rough, this temporarily disables the chip (I dont know why) unfortunatley, when you turn your NES off, the chip starts working again and you have to repeat the step the next time you play a game. those are all the suggetions I have, Bye!

hoz, been a loyal fan of ur site for quite some time..in fact..i started collecting nintendo way back when it first came out. I stopped for about 3 years cause i couldnt find them anywhere..then all of a sudden funcoland opened. I went from 54 games to over 200 nintendo games. All still work perfectly. I have now just invested in the whole 8bit nes...i have over 11 nes systems..all work..i have over 20 controls, joysticks, guns etc. etc. But I did notice that you dont have a how to clean your nintendo the right way.... there is this stuff..i think its called sun and earth or the other way around...its a household spray cleaner. I had one game (rockman 2 the jap version of mega man 2) that would not work period..i cleaned it with the "nintendo cleaner" nothing...so i got desprate and tried this stuff..man did it ever work...i now clean my nintendo with that every month...just take a q-tip and rub the control panel then use the blow dryer(learned that from u) on it... how to clean ur nintendo.... unscrew it all (dont loss the screws) i mean everything is undone and ur nintendo is in pieces....then take that spray, q-tips, a rag and a blow dryer and wet and dry everything until u see no more dust..trust me if its your first time there will be a lot of it.put it all together and it should work...did it with every one i got..
