I'm Rev. Karen Davis, and I live in Iowa. I founded my Ministry in 1998. The year is now 2008. When I first began my Ministry I discovered that people were very disappointed in the churches that they had attended. Churches make millions off citizens all over the world! Churches get bigger and bigger, then expect people to give a large portion of their earnings to the church in order to belong to their congregation. They felt discouraged and began falling away from the church. Giving large portions of their earnings were becoming a hardship for many familys.

I myself, and the affiliates of my church ask nothing from our congregations! House Church expenses are very meager. There is no building to rent, no hired office people. We gather in a relax setting in our homes, or during nice weather we meet in parks, peoples back yards or by lakes, anywhere we can enjoy the beauty and freedom of nature. Members bring a covered dish or another type of food, such as bread or drinks. Then after a relaxed service the food is shared with all.

People bring lawn chairs, set on blankets or at picnic tables and enjoy each others company and some even have debates on religion and world affairs. The point is that our Gatherings are cheerful, nothing like a run of the mill church.

Now I know this type of Ministry isn't for everyone. But if you enjoy being free to express yourself in church and not just be a person filling up the seats, you should attend an outdoor service or attend a get together at a house church. We gather in our homes for bible study and prayer on Saturday evenings.

For hundreds of years people gathered in homes and attended out door services, Christ and his disciples ministered where ever they could gather. Many people today feel that if this was the Lords way - it should be our way!

I have done 'Prison Ministry', volunteered at shelters for Battered Women' and run away teens, and aided in helping children with cancer. I'm a cancer survivor myself so my heart goes out to these kids. I've also assisted in a couple campaigns run by 'Green Global' and several other organizations online. They are trying to save our planet!
