| The Official Annihilation FAQ -Everything you ever wanted to know, and even some stuff you didn't- By Noah K 17 Welcome to my FAQ. Contained on this page are all the questions that everyone asks me, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. I hope this will answer all, or at least a few of your questions about Annihilation, Programming, Visual Basic, ChUB, and any other sort of random comments I add. Enjoy! Q. What is ChUB? A. Chibot Ultra Battle is a battler type game played on the AOL chat room system. It can be commonly found in these private rooms on AOL...ChUB, DBZ, and sometimes even in KUB. If you would like to download the game itself, visit the Annihilation website. Q. How did you make ChUB Annihilation? A. Well, for one, I myself did not make ChUB. A gentleman by the name of Rick (NeoKamek, KamEkSaLLy, MagiKamek) made the original ChUB. At one point he gave me the source, due to another gentleman by the name of Eric (Cashman703). I then edited his source, added new features and such, to create something that I called ChUB GOLD. That soon evolved into the Talisman OS, while at the same time Rick was making his own version which he called ChUB 2000 or CK2. Rick stopped work on CK2 for some reason or another, so after he left the scene, I created ChUB Annihilation. Annihilation had four new status effects that were now available to players, as well as many more features, games and functions. Q. Ok, I get all that... but what did you use to make the game? A. All versions of ChUB were made with Visual Basic. (Ranging from VB3-VB6) Q. What is Visual Basic? A. Visual Basic is made by the Microsoft Corporation. It is application development suite. It retails anywhere from $99-$600 dollars, depending on what version of 6.0 you get. There are 4 versions, Learning Edition, Standard Edition, Professional Edition, and Enterprise Edition. You can either buy the Upgrade, or the full version depending on whether or not you own a previous version of Visual Basic, such as VB 3.0 or VB 5.0, ect... Q. I don't have $99-$600 dollars... Can you send Visual Basic to me? A. In a word, no. Not only is that illegal, Visual Basic 6.0 Professional Edition (which is what I use) is also over 200 megabytes in size. That would take just under forever to upload. However, if you aren't one of those law abiding citizens, I'm sure you can find a copy of Visual Basic 3.0 and 4.0 somewhere on the net, if you look hard enough. Q. I saw some guy named IPUNKl terminated a game while I was hosting... How does he do that? A. Rick, otherwise known as PUNK, has something which I like to call god mode, which in turn let's him term games. Q. What exactly is god mode? A. God mode is a program that only runs when you are signed onto specific AOL screennames, such as Noah K 17, IPUNKl, SlrSenshiV, Ganon100, NeoKamek, and others... People that have an older version of god mode will not be able to do anything to Annihilation, since Annihilation uses a new code. God mode has commands to do all sorts of neat stuff during the game. A person can kill, life, void, super, maxx, haste, and hyper anyone they want. God mode can be used to terminate the game, open your own CD player, or even reboot your CPU. A wise man once said, 'Do not piss off someone with god mode.' Why? Because they can mess you up bad if you do. Q. Can I have god mode? A. Um... no. Q. Why can't I have god mode? A. Um... because I don't like you that much. Q. You're mean. A. Oh, I'm sorry... I didnt read what you just said, since I BLOCKED YOU FROM EVER SEEING ME ONLINE AGAIN. Q. B-but... A. I can't see you...... next question please. Q. I've heard about this password that you type in that let's you get god mode. What is it? A. Press F3 during battle, click on Full God-Mode and type in 'nogod = false'. This will give the host a few extra commands during battle. One is /displace, which lets you take any move from any player and add it onto your player temporally. Another is /~void, this makes the game totally clear out a player, as if they had never joined. The last is /~halt, this stops a player mid-move, no matter what they are doing. There might be 1 or 2 more commands, but you're going to have to find them out for yourself. Q. What about that password on the Universal Character Editor? A. I would tell you, but I can't.. since KamekOwnzU and stuff. Maybe I'll tell you the password later or something... Q. I'm making my own battler, toolz bot, ect... and I was wondering if you could help me out with it. A. No, I can't. I work a full time job, and I go to school 12 hours a week. This leaves me little or no time to work on Annihilation, much less someone else's program. I'm sorry, but that's the bottom line. Email [email protected] I'm sure that he would be more then happy to help you out. Q. Can you make me my own personal character for Annihilation? A. Again, no. The main reason is, I suck at making characters. The only character I ever made was Raistlin. You can make your own characters using the Universal Character Editor found at the Annihilation website. Q. When is the next version of Annihilation coming out? A. I have no idea, always check back at my website for the latest news. Q. I heard you are accepting Beta Tester applications, how can I apply, and where do I send it to? A. I highly doubt that I will ever need any more beta testers right now. I have over 200 currently. But thanks for asking. Q. What ever happened to NeoKamek? A. He's still around...somewhere. Q. Are there any good websites that have to deal with ChUB, or SMB in general? A. Check out Ganon100's website, and also KatLioness' website. It is rumored that Kat has a MP3 of me singing 'Save Tonight' somewhere on the downloads page...
