Armaments & Equipment:
3 x "Scatter Shot" Wide-Field Beam Cannon, fixed forward in chest, used in Mobile Suit mode only.
1 x High-Energy Particle Beam Cannon, mounted in sensor head "mouth," used in Mobile Suit mode only.
2 x Double-Barreled Positron Cannon, mounted on back; used in Assault Mode only.
2 x Mark V Multi-Tube Missile Launcher, mounted on back; used in either mode.
2 x "DuLac" Heavy Beam Sword, mounted on end of each forearm shield.
10 x High-Caliber Vulcan Cannon, mounted in each fingertip.
Beam Scattering Field Generator, creates full-body barrier that weakens or totally disperses incoming energy attacks.
Particle Craft Flight System, generates an anti-gravity "lift" effect around the mobile suit, taking stress off its engines and allowing it to take full flight.
Brief Profile:
A true monster, the Testament has a history that goes all the way back to the Third Space War. This mobile suit of nearly unparalleled size and strength has seen active service every year since its debut, usually with modifications that bestow the most destructive weaponry available upon its tremendous frame. The most recent incarnation of the Testament is no exception to this trend. Evolved from a decade's worth of intense study into the capabilities of its design, it is equipped with the largest and most destructive arsenal yet. Besides the huge beam cannon batteries that cover its mobile suit mode, the unit also carries a pair of gigantic positron cannons. These big guns, usable only in Assault Mode because of their energy requirements, are for use against enemy battleships, bases, or just to cause apocalyptic levels of damage over a raging battlefield. Adding a multitude of vulcan cannons and missiles to the mix assures the mobile suit of the ability to bring down almost any target that falls in its sights.
True to the form of its predecessors, the Testament III also carries some very interesting support equipment to augment its arsenal. It retains the anti-gravity Craft System, a feature of the original prototype model which allows the suit to hover in mid-air almost indefinitely. It also mounts powerful hyperpulse turbines to supplement this lift, and give amazing cruising speed despite its size, especially in its Assault Mode. The behemoth also features a new variation of an older model's energy shield: a scattering field system that disperse incoming energy attacks before they can strike the suit's armored hide. Intended as a countermeasure against harassing mobile suits and smaller targets, the shield can only weaken strong blasts, and is totally useless against ballistic attacks. Still, unlike its older shield networks, the newer system can be kept constantly active, and is supported by the machine's thick, Luna Titanium skin.
For safety and security reasons, the Alliance has only one factory devoted to the production of Testament units. Even after a few years of service, the Mark III is still a rare sight, with only one machine usually assigned to support a regional task force or headquarters, such the Alliance's detachment in Paradise. As most are kept in reserve, either for emergencies or spare parts, the number of active units at any one time can usually be counted on one hand. With its huge arsenal, and the fact that most modern mobile suits barely reach its waist, the Testament is regarded as one of the grandest examples of the Titan Class.
