Story:

As not to clash with the solar abilities of Seiryu, Suzaku's elemental emblem of fire has been modified for its War Saint namesake. It's Flare Matrix is also a form of nuclear weapon, but sways even further into the evils of using radioactive arsenals. Rather than reflect solar beams, Suzaku generates intense nuclear reactions and projects them outward from various points on its body. These reactions are fuelled by the seemingly limitless reserves of the Cerberus Core, which retains quite a large surplus of energy specifically for this purpose.

At a glance, the Phoenix God's power seems less versatile than those of its fellow War Saints. The suit can either fire its intense radioactive beams in conventional shots of varying sizes, or let loose a showering barrage in all directions to riddle apart anything surrounding it. While this may not seem as immediately awesome as Genbu's gravity fields or Seiryu's fleet-destroying solar blasts, it still has promise.

For starters, Suzaku's beams can penetrate virtually any type of armor immediately on contact, and overload most beam shields and I-fields after a single hit. Furthermore, if the target somehow survives, the lingering radiation produced by the beam poisons the immediate area of impact, and slowly spreads its contamination. Even by its mere pressence, Suzaku can devastate an area with overflowing radioactive output, making it effectively a walking plague dispenser. Besides all of this, the suit also possesses the highest speed and agility levels of all the units, making it difficult to catch or hit, let alone dodge.

Suzaku, like the other War Saints, accomplishes all of this with the help of both its advanced engine core and its Divinium alloy frame. The former is a previously unknown technology that tremendously over-matches the potential of standard Neutron-S Drives, using particle inversions and reactions. The latter is extremely durable, almost to the point where some conventional weapons are useless against it. It also acts as a form of resonance transmission medium, and is instrumental in amplifying the effects of the unit's primary weapon. As a final note, the Phoenix God also carries an extremely powerful beam sword for close-quarters combat. This wide-bladed weapon can destroy many lesser beam blades on immediate contact, overloading them, and slashes through mobile suits with incredible ease.
