    Story:

Though it was developed during the Third Space War as part of a joint effort between the Newtype Corps, Ark Orion's Landon Technologies, and the Armatech Syndicate, the Seraph can not be found on any of the surviving records left from either of these former scientific giants. Not one reference remains in any database known to the New Alliance, the Church of Man, or even the space colonies. It is as if the mobile suit, which was an astounding reality given the mutual dislike its designers had for one another, never existed. Yet, when a group of Vacillia investigators unearthed the first traces of the lost war-era city of Paradise, they also discovered several of these units, undisturbed by the passage of time.

As mentioned, the Seraph is the result of an unlikely alliance between three otherwise belligerent allies of the Third Space War. Traces of this unusual origin are clearly seen within every element of its design. Both physically and aesthetically, it has many of the traits of an Ark Orion Braver series mobile suits, with a sleek and lightweight construction. At the same time, Armatech's engines and internal systems not only give it the ability to sustain atmospheric flight, but to move through the air with incredible speed and grace. This is, in turn, enhanced by the Corps' contribution of a variable mode configuration, advanced weaponry, and Transphase Luna Titanium armor. These combined qualities make for a light, fast unit with the qualities of both a high-performance fighter jet and a general purpose mobile suit.

If it had been deployed during the third war, there is no question that the Seraph would have given the Corps an incredible edge on the battlefield. Unfortunately, not a single unit was deployed, nor were there even test trials conducted by the Corps. With this in mind, there seems to be no real rationale for the Seraph's existence, unless one remembers where these machines were found in the first place. Given that the hidden Vacillia fortress is capable of ascending above the clouds, its now clear that the Seraph was intended to be a part of its defenses. This claim is easily backed-up by the presence of Divinium E2 shielding around the mobile suit's cockpit and engines, which extends its operating time without a Coordinator from 54 seconds to a more incredible 54 minutes. This makes it an excellent post-war combatant, leaving one to speculate that someone had anticipated its role well in advance. Since its discovery, the Seraph has been adopted by the Church of Man who took control of the lion's share of these units after they laid claim to Paradise. A few machines, however, have ended up in the hands of lucky outsiders, including the Providence organization. The Church has made its own units distinct by giving them a golden paint scheme, emulating the armor colour of their infamous Saviour units (though, without the ability to reflect energy blasts).
