    Story:

Since the beginning of the Third Space War, the Newtype Corps has had a number of its technological innovations stolen and reused by its enemies. This turn of events has severely hurt its technological dominance on the battlefield, which was already hampered by the tremendous production costs of such specialized mobile suit models as the Crusader and Lucifer. The Revelator, in many ways, is the answer the Corps' logistical prayers, offering a strong, fast, and cost-effective unit that puts the latest Corps technology into a simple, easy-to-use package. Though it lacks many of the heavy field weapons and expensive features used in the past or by the organization's enemies, the Revelator does possess abilities that could usher in a new set of standards for general purpose mobile suits.

Besides the standard Revelator, the Newtype Corps also created a drone type that maximizes the battlefield efficiency of a Newtype soldier. Often unable to compete with the shear numbers that its enemies can deploy, the Corps has frequently survived through its use of remote weapons and similar mind-controlled pieces of equipment. Fortunately (or, unfortunately, for the Corps' enemies), the growth of Resonance-effecting technology has given way to a new levels of streamlining within the organization. The Corps is able to reduce the necessary crew requirements for an entire space cruiser by optimizing both the automated elements of the vessel and maximizing the amount that one person can do through the mental manipulation of technology. The Revelator drone simply takes this same concept, and applies it to a mobile weapon.

From a control center within a Corps ship, space station, or even a mobile suit, a single Newtype can manipulate an entire squadron of up to six drones simultaneously. For the sake of optimal multi-tasking or emergency delegating, however, the standard number is kept at three units per operator. This allows the Corps to put its over-abundance of technology to use with a lower risk of human losses. If a drone is destroyed, it causes no harm to the operator; he/she merely "disconnects" from it. The lack of a human pilot is also advantageous, in that it allows the Corps to draft its drone units into rather unorthodox roles (such as suicide squads) and to pull manoeuvres that most human (and some Newtype) pilots would be physically incapable of.

In terms of performance, the drone Revelator has all of the same basic physical attributes as its mobile suit counterpart. It carries the same weaponry, and even has the innovative Series-D beam shields built into each of its forearms. However, to keep the mass production costs of these fodder mecha to a minimum level, the Corps has decided to replace the durable Divinium-E armor with more practical composite plating. Given the lack of a pilot, this disadvantages of this change are outweighed by the perks of the lower manufacturing price tag.
