At the center of Nirvana's design are the high-endurance frame, myomers, armor and engine elements that have already been incorporated into Newtype Corps' 500 series mobile weapons. The unit has a Divinium skeleton and shell, which makes it highly responsive to the mysterious phenomenon known as Resonance. This in turn elevates the innate abilities of the pilot, which are already translated into reality-bending effects thanks to the suit's Fate Matrix. This integrated device allows the unit to apparently slow the physics of the environment surrounding it, though only for short periods of time, giving it an incredible survival technique and stunning surprise. The Fate Matrix also has other, extended functions that make it distinct from the thematic interfaces of the War Saints, though many of these differ depending on who is at the machine's controls.
Besides this vague and fanciful aspect of its design, the Nirvana also features some of the latest conventional combat technology to come out of Ark Orion. Its "Lumiere" generators are an evolution of colloid shielding technology. Rather than use a single, vulnerable emitter, each shield operates by releasing charged colloid particles from a number of tiny, ergonomic vents that are along the suit's forearms. The end result is what appears to be a stable, triangular field of bright cobalt-blue light that can be expanded to just over half Nirvana's size. This field has been improved over the older colloid bracers used on mass production models, and can absorb bullets and explosives as well as beam attacks. The energy itself can be redirected, if necessary, and used as a weapon, albeit without any of the finesse of a beam cannon or blade.
The power demands for these devices are met by the same Cerberus Core that fuels the Newtype Corps' powerful Resonance-using mobile suits. In fact, the suit's entire network of high-performance systems can only be managed by the core, as standard Neutron-S engines can barely meet a third of its needs. Logistical demands aside, the very nature of this gives the suit yet another deeper tie to Resonance, prompting the machine to periodically respond to the pilot's will in unpredictable ways. Even the suit's conventional arsenal, which includes a Divinium-tipped shotlancer and a variable speed beam rifle, can be drawn into the effects.
