Hathor has been officially designated a General Unrestrained Nuclear Drive Assault Module. The core of its design is a Leo type-D frame, the latest evolutionary variant of the Alliance's only salvaged Zodiac G unit from the Space War. This new body style is very different from the economized type-B and type-C frames used in the mass produced Soldati and Braver. While the earlier two were kept thin and trim, allowing for maximum mobility, the type-D is layered with armor, but offsets this bulk with larger verniers and manoeuvring thrusters.
Most of Hathor's body is made up of Gundanium alloy, a more powerful derivative of the G-Metal used on the original Zodiac G units. The outer armor is a Trans-Phase subtype, which takes on the qualities of Ark Nova's infamous Phase Shift metals. Whereas Phase Shift armor utilized a 'power up' mode denoted by color and a 'phase shift down' mode denoted by grey, Trans-Phase armor is always active, and designed to only activate its energy shielding at the point of impact. This enables the Gundam to use to take advantage of the Phase Shift effect almost indefinitely.
Combined with this ability is Hathor's complement of innovative weapons. While the layout of sensor head vulcans, beam blades, and a shield is a nostalgic nod to the original Leo type-A frame, the calibre of each feature has been increased over their originals. The large beam sword, for example, can extinguish smaller energy blades by overloading them after prolonged impact. The heavy assault bracer has been reinforced to take much more damage, and has a magnetic coating that nullifies partial beam damage, along with room to accommodate two large missiles. More surprising are two wire-mounted guns that launch from Hathor's back, which can dodge and weave around with a limitless degree of movement. Adding the knock-out punch to this ensemble are two pairs of optional missile launchers and a large rail gun. All of these weapons are tied to the advanced targeting of the strangely symbiotic bio-computer, and seem to react with the pilot's control commands and, to some extent, instinct.
