Brief Background:
The Freedom has served the United Alliance for the last forty years in a variety of forms, seeing a wide range of field upgrades. The current model, which was brought into service about five years ago, replaces the older, shell-firing 180mm guns with a collection of beam cannons, giving the ship greater longevity in combat. Since the end of the Space War, these ships have become more and more common along the Earth Sphere's space lanes. With the mainstreaming of Alliance mobile suits, improvements have been made to the Freedom's interior design to compensate. Now, these vessels deploy with a full complement of ten Foxhound mobile armors and two four-unit mobile suit squads. If necessary, another eight mobile suits can ride along the ship's outer hull. This option is usually taken only in heavy combat situations.
