Hyper Vulcan Rack x 2: Improved variations upon the original vulcan cannon, these weapons fire a heavier shell that carries double the explosive effect. On impact, Hyper Vulcan blasts explode over a surface, combining penetrating power with shear force. These weapons are kept inside the box cases upon Gundam's shoulders, which flip open when they are in use.
Micro-Missile Pod x 2: Each of the Gundam's knees flip open to reveal a quintet of small, high-explosive missiles. Kept for close range combat, these warheads are programmed to swarm a foe in a single volley, striking multiple points for maximum effect. Unfortunately, they have limited range, though they are difficult to dodge.
Army Knife x 2: A switchblade that can be given a thermal charge for extra cutting power. Though not very reliable as dueling weapons, they do have potential in close range attacks, if the pilot knows what to hit. Primarily, they are kept as a last-ditch defense. Each is stored in a compartment within the mobile suit's forearm, deploying from the wrists, right into the hands, when needed.
The realities of the United Alliance's Zodiac G project have slowly come to light. Six mobile suits, based upon the unfinished prototype of the defunct Englestein project of CC 086, were created by the United Alliance Armed Forces to wreck havoc upon the colony rebellion of the Grand Cross. Tailored for high performance in specialized fields, these machines each feature advanced weapons, equipment, and, most important of all, the incredible Paragon computer system. "Shackled" deep within the databases of each Zodiac G is a malevolently-installed human consciousness that has been torturously programmed to obliterate the Grand Cross, but is far too traumatized to actually do so.
Each of the Zodiac G mobile suits is equipped with a GR series electrical battery, similar to those used by the Grand Cross' mobile suits. There is nothing especially distinct about the technology behind these engine cores, though the particulars of each Gundam's battery do stand out. Unlike the Grand Cross Tora series, the GRs are overspecialized for particular performance ratings, and manage to provide a much higher energy output. However, they still do not overcome the time limitations common to this overall design. Three hours of constant, rigorous performance, stretchable to five through moderation, are all the pilot should expect without a direct cable connection to larger source of power.
The Aries follows in the footsteps of the Alliance's mobile walkers, mixing the versatility of a mobile suit with overwhelming firepower. It is a heavy support unit, its large Gauss cannon as effective against battleships as it is mobile suits. However, unlike the walkers, Aries can also fight well at close ranges, its arsenal of missiles and vulcans, along with its heat knives, able to tear up any who approach it. While its agility is lower than its peers, and its movements somewhat sluggish by comparison, it remains both solid and physically strong; Aries is still on par with the Aeshma series in its weakest fields. Of course, even these parallels can be surpassed with the help of the Gundam's Newtype "soul," Sekhmet.
Note - Unlike three of the original Zodiac Gs, the Aries survived its experiences during the Grand Cross/United Alliance war. It was eventually upgraded, to the "Kai" variant.
