Isolde
Type: Modified Patrol Ship/Blockade Runner
Length: 275 meters
Weight: 64,000 tons
Armor Type: Titanium
Propulsion: TRI-90 Turbine & Apogee
Power Plant: Galahad Fusion
Mobile Suit Capacity: 4
Primary Equipment:
Mega Particle Cannon x 4: A double barreled high energy weapon system positioned along the hull, with a paired turret on either side of the bow. Primarily suited for naval combat, they are not very effective against faster mobile weapons. These cannons are a powerful surprise for unwary foes, who don't usually expect a smaller ship to carry so many of them.
Missile Launch Port x 3: Hidden missile racks are located in various parts of the hull. Each is loaded with several dozen heavy missiles that break apart into a wide spread of smaller warheads. Effective against mobile weapons, they can have their "split" feature deactivated when used against a larger target.
Retrieval Hook x 2: These hidden turrets fire harpoon-like warheads that bore into a target, and latch on to it. Ideal of retrieving space junk or securing another vessel for boarding, these harpoons are attached to reinforced cables that can extend up to three hundred and fifty meters each.
Brief Background:
Custom built from stem to stern, the construction and upkeep of the Isolde has been a labor of love for all of its owners, including its latest captain, Tristan Ramsey. Its name and registration have changed several times over, with its latest moniker only one of a nearly a dozen that have come before it. Perhaps the only constant within its design has been its speed. Isolde is not just a fast ship, it is one of the fastest in the entire Earth Sphere. Furthermore, its large engines are paired with a surprisingly heavy array of mega particle particle cannons, giving the vessel sharper teeth than most expect. Granted, it can have trouble dealing with smaller craft, though it usually doesn't take the time to engage them. It is uncertain how long this ship has been in service, for while some of its equipment is easily a half century old, most of it is in exceptional condition.
