    Brief Profile:

The Jegan was a milestone for the New Alliance when it was rolled out just six years after the restoration of the Earth Sphere's technological status quo. For starters, it was the first mobile suit that they had manufactured in accordance to the new, emerging standards that were streamlining the weapon across the Earth Sphere. Not only that, though, it was the first machine, period, that the Alliance had built and mass produced that was totally original, and not a carry-over from the Third Space War. Since it's creation, the Jegan has been rolled out with incredible speed and enthusiasm, the Alliance having adopted it as their signature frontline unit. Pilots from every division are trained to be familiar with it, so much so that demonstrating competency on the Jegan is a requirement of all regular performance reviews.

Built as an all-purpose commando unit, the Jegan appears to be in the vein of designs like the Puma and Foxhound. Unlike these older machines, however, it does not rely on a selection of mission augmentation packs or additional equipment to make it fit for combat duty. Instead, the Jegan attempts to bring all the essential elements needed for the field together in one small, cost-effective package. As suitable in space or underwater as it is on regular terrain, the machine has a remarkably balanced set of attributes that make it quite impressive for its size. Its primary armament, a hand-carried smartgun, is a light beam rifle with its own targeting suite that automatically adjusts a pilot's aim for a better chance at a direct hit. The remainder of its arsenal is fairly light, but optimized for urban combat, which is becoming more common as the Alliance establishes or takes jurisdiction over large settlements.
