    Story:

Mobile suit developments have proceeded at a slow pace since the end of the Space Wars. With reconstruction and political fallout occupying the time of all Earth Sphere governments, large and small, military development no longer remains a high priority. As a consequence, larger armed forces have scaled back the number of mobile suit models they use, relying on free-market machines and new general purpose designs.

The Dingo is the United Alliance's general purpose mobile suit as of 114 CC, released only a few years after an extremely long dependency on the Soldati series. Though produced by the Armatech Syndicate, the Alliance's prime arms manufacturer, the machine was actually designed by the artificial intelligence of the Leviathan Network. This fact is kept a closely-guarded secret within the Alliance, whose authorities feel it could lead to several controversial debates.

Several elements of the Dingo are taken from both the Soldati and past Alliance military projects. The core unit is a balanced, though somewhat unimpressive, machine that works well in almost any environment but truly excells in none. It is usually issued a pistol-like beam gun with its standard arsenal, though its flexible combat computer also allows for a variety of additional hand weapons. For special missions or long-range assignments, a Dingo can equip an armored shroud that not only triples its durability, but adds thrusters to keep it relatively fast and agile.

Following the rebellion of the Newtype Corps, however, the United Alliance quickly discovered the limitations of this design. With minimal distinctiveness, the Dingo may have been well-suited to general duties, but it is easily out-matched by the Corps' highly specialized units. Unfortunately, the Alliance has been forced to keep the design in circulation, since its next-generation Fox mobile suits are still too expensive to adequately mass produce. This has forced many Dingo pilots to close the equipment gap with superior strategy, which is no easy task when most are Naturals.
