The Daily News is reporting on 8/19 that the new C.O. at Midtown South has had 12 cops as well as four sergeants transferred in the wake of the reported scandal coming out of that stationhouse.
Prosay is not overly alarmed by this dispersal of personnel. History shows that mass transfers have occured frequently in the past, for less publicized situations as this, even if the number of transfers here is somewhat large. The bad thing is that 12 cops and 4 sergeants from God-knows-where will be cleaning out their lockers this week to trek to MTS. We don't believe that too many of those transferred will be saddled with the cloak of the scandal, despite the legitimate attempt by the PBA to get the transfers canceled based on the possibility that they will. Afterall, under the present administration, you're as good as gone if you are really caught up in anything that remotely looks like a scandal.
Let's hope that this whole thing is over with shortly...and legitimately...without anyone innocent being gravely affected by it.
