STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (PAGE 1)

Men are in trouble. Indeed, if one reads the newspapers, it becomes clear that the heterosexual male in particular of the human species is next in line for extinction. Headlines like "What's wrong with men?", "Our dire straights" and "Why women make better managers than men" are constantly blared on newspaper pages all over the Western world. Clearly, no animal this maladjusted or devolving at such a rate can survive in this harsh system where only the fittest survives. With the future as bleak as it looks for men, one must give credit to Ashley Montagu's incredible display of foresight when he wrote his classic male feminist text, "The Natural Superiority of Women".

One begins to wonder how come society, saturated as it is with such clearly worthless and unstable animals has not yet imploded from the strain of keeping them in check. Inherently violent and unable to emphasise with others one wonders how such creatures managed to survive this long. By rights, males should have been phased out of existence a long time ago.

Millions of books have been written on masculinity and the nature of men. The more popular writers have used the powerful tools of feminist and Politically Correct post-modernist analysis to examine and try to understand the concept of maleness, masculinity and the nature of men. These reputable scholars have come to the conclusion that masculinity and maleness is the cause of the most heinous societal evils. Thus everything men partake in bears that taint. Indeed their general view could be summed up in this statement by Canadian feminist Andrea Dworkin "In everything men make, they hollow out a central place for death, let its rancid smell contaminate every dimension of whatever still survives. Men especially love murder. In art they celebrate it, and in life they commit it. They embrace murder as if life without it would be devoid of passion meaning, and action, as if murder were solace, still their sobs as they mourn the emptiness and alienation of their lives" Although Dworkin is called an 'extremist', it seems as if her ideas, and those of others like her, have caught on. Quite recently, a British journalist confidently wrote that "the world is basically about men murdering women, you see..." and a United States Congresswoman also confidently asserted "I believe that women have a capacity for understanding and compassion which a man structurally does not have, does not have it because he cannot have it. He's just incapable of it." Also, quite curiously, one of the most highly regarded and respected feminists world wide, not an 'extremist' like Dworkin, the founder of the world's most famous feminist magazine and an honorary member of America's largest feminist organization, Gloria Steinem, apparently doesn't find Dworkin to be an 'extremist'. In fact, she has this to say about her: "In every century, there are a handful of writers who help the human race to evolve. Andrea is one of them." Ms. Steinem also added her piece of wisdom to this. On understanding that masculinity and maleness are the core building blocks of Patriarchy, that system that promotes the oppression of women, in which all men (except gay men) have a vested interest in maintaining, she has this to say; "Patriarchy requires violence or the subliminal threat of violence in order to maintain itself... The most dangerous situation for a woman is not an unknown man in the street, or even the enemy in wartime, but a husband or lover in the isolation of their home." And again, Patriarchy, these scholars have also discovered, enforces the belief upon men that they must rape, subjugate, abuse, batter and harass or else they would not be 'real' men.

Seeing the glowing praise of this insightful look into the nature of men and masculinity, from Gloria Steinem, the Ghandi of women's rights, such a great fountain of truth and justice, it is obvious to anyone with a correct thinking brain that this must be true. Perhaps Andrea Dworkin's views may not be as fringe as certain people say they are. Thus one can see that the Violence Against Women Act passed in the United States, designed to protect women from the inherently incurable penchant for violence in 'males' is obviously a good idea. Perfect proof of this is the Montreal Massacre in Canada where a man named Marc Lepine murdered 14 female engineering students at Montreal's cole Polytechnique before killing himself. His suicide note contained the statement, "Feminists have ruined my life!" Obviously, his actions were representative of the inherent misogyny that is such an integral part men's nature, caused by his frustration at the Patriarchy's failure to keep women down and his resentment at having to share his male privileges with them. It is also quite clear, as revealed by studies conducted by feminist organizations, that a huge proportion of men admire him and want to do the same, i.e. a 'feminist' conducted 'study' by an American university has revealed that 36% of men would rape if they had the chance. Another example is the Jonesboro Killings in Arkanasas, the United States. The killing of the girls and teacher in Jonesboro also illustrates, again, men's incurable urge to commit violence against women. Their sense of masculinity was what told those boys that it's OK to kill girls if they jilt them. And anyone should be able to see the common sense in HCR 182 , currently in the United States Congress. It is also clear that the new revisions of law to lower the amount of proof needed to convict an accused rapist proposed by Illinois State Representative Patricia Lindner, who should obviously be applauded for her brave stand against male violence, couldn't be more needed. None the less it is clear; men are oppressors, say all the major accepted feminist and liberal leftist scholars, oppressors of women, homosexuals, children, animals, the environment and all that is good and pure. Ample proof of this is provided in Women's Studies departments all over the Western world.

Also, as evidenced by former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan's above statement, masculinity has been discovered to also preclude empathy and emotional development in heterosexual men. Carol Gilligan, author of In A Different Voice has also found that men are not as morally developed or connected as women. Indeed how could they be? Men, except for gay men, by their very nature, are no good at being sharing, caring, loving or expressing their feelings. Another fairly recent discovery is that men are also no good as lovers of women. Relationship experts in the Western world generally concur that this is definitely true. Men are insensitive beings who cannot contribute to the emotional aspect of a relationship of any nature, whether it be with their children, with their female significant others or even among their own male friends. Therefore, demands by fathers rights organizations to allow divorced men the right to play an important part in their children's must be pure drivel. Women, as the only parents capable of contributing meaningfully to their children's lives should be allowed the exclusive right to decide what is best for them. A father is clearly unnecessary. Therefore single motherhood is not only liberating for women but it also cuts out an unnecessary and a potentially harmful addition to the woman and child's life, giving men's high propensity for sexually and physically assaulting women and children. One obviously enlightened woman was quoted on an LA newspaper as saying "I chose to be a single mother because I want to raise my son without the negative influence of a man in his life". Jodie Foster's display of wisdom and independence in choosing to be a single mother because she "doesn't want a man telling [her] how to raise [her] child", thereby taking complete control of 'her' life, should be applauded by one and all.

Quite obviously, this relatively new view of masculinity has caught on. It is constantly being presented as fact in the media, in schools, in public policy and law. To illustrate one needs only to look around. Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Dame Margaret Thatcher publicly made a memorable little statement that said; "In politics, if you want anything said, ask a man; if you want anything done, ask a woman." A popular wall hanging in offices says "Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult." The decision by the organizers of a women's festival in Canada, called Womenfolk back in 1996, to refuse admittance to all males above age 5 was clearly based on their desire to make sure that the taint of masculinity carried by all men, but to a lesser tolerable extent by boys under 5 years old, did not poison the safe gynocentric atmosphere of the festival for the women. "A year earlier, Covenant House, a Toronto hostel for street kids associated with the Catholic Church, ran billboards depicting a young female prostitute conversing with a potential client. The caption read: "She's met a lot of men who've been just like a father to her""(Laframboise) Clearly such an enlightened attitude is one of the guiding principles of the National Organization for Women's current fight against the obviously sexual predator infested Fathers' Rights movement, who surely only seek to continue their sexual and physical abuse of their children. In Australia, enlightened Politically Correct feminist teachers are stopping boys from playing such hetero-patriarchal games as soccer, rugby and cricket, because they help perpetuate male dominance and phallocentrism and such games are inherently oppressive to women.

Touring the internet in search of men's groups one notices that most of them have the same underlying principle, from the clearly male supremacist, according to National Organization for Women President Patricia Ireland and Eleanor Smeal of the Fund for the Feminist Majority, Promise Keepers, right down to pro-feminist men's groups like Real Men and Men Against Sexual Assault. The popular notion that something is 'wrong' with men is not just held by women.

The Promise Keepers are of the belief that men are primary cause of all societal evils and therefore should take responsibility for the state society is in while one of the founding tenets of MASA is "that men are overwhelmingly the perpetrators of sexual assault which includes rape of women, sexual harassment, child sexual abuse, spouse/partner abuse, male/male rape, and hate crimes against gays, lesbians and bisexuals."

Real Men understandably doesn't even seem to be able to trust men to actually take responsibility for the societal evils they caused all by themselves. Their tenth 'Commandment' states: "Ask women what they'd like to see men doing, and then follow up on it." Others include "Learn from women's experience", "Read women's literature" and "Read Ms. Magazine." From what is seen from the rest of their web-site, these men understandably believe that heterosexual men must atone for their sins; past, present and future.

Of course, this picture of masculinity only holds true when using feminist and Politically Correct analysis, free of patriarchal and phallocentric concepts like logic, rationality, reason and consistency. The true nature of these concepts have been exposed; they were tools specifically fashioned by heterosexual men, using 'vertical thinking', as discovered by Evelyn Fox Keller and Susan Harding, to better enable them oppress and subjugate women, children and homosexuals.

However, some people have displayed great audacity in challenging the modern feminist and Politically Correct post-modern view of heterosexual men, among them, men like Warren Farrell, Jack Kammer, David Thomas, John Gordon, Herb Goldberg, etc. Among female dissenters are Christina Hoff Sommers, Cathy Young, Camille Paglia, Rene Denfeld, Karen Lehrman etc. All of them have encountered the wrath of the Politically Correct and the modern feminist establishment. All the men who objected have been labelled 'typical male' misogynists and the women dissenters have been declared either 'too oppressed to see' or 'traitors' to their sex.

According to these 'misogynists', 'traitors'/'blind confused oppressees', the modern feminist and Politically Correct view of men and masculinity is quite simply wrong, insulting and degrading to both men and women. They suggest that the newspapers have it all wrong. The obvious wisdom of the SCUM Manifesto notwithstanding, they claim men are not the incompetent and clumsy lovers, bad parents, and emotionally castrated, violent, perverted, sex mad and dangerous beasts we are told they are. Though this may be hard to imagine, they say that the esteemed pillars of scholarship who wrote "The Women's Room", "Against Our Will", "Successful Women Angry Men", "Sisterhood Is Powerful" and "Refusing To Be A Man" are quite simply, wrong.

We are of the same camp.
