Dispensing justice with a politically correct format, will do to families, what plagues and wars have done. Destroy us!
Let us take a look at the numbers for a second;
In Alabama, Rule 32 is the premiere child support
law. It says that the non-custodial parent must pay a
percentage of the custodial parents bills. In my case that was
57%, being I brought in 57% of the income.
Now, for one child, with our incomes plugged into the formula our legislature
came up with, it states that it
would take approximately $940.00 a month for my child to live of which
I pay 57%. Now explain how one child
could need $940 monthly based on our incomes. Does he live with
her or her with him?
Her income was about $20,000.00 at the time of divorce
and mine in the neighborhood of $23,000.00 yearly.
I had remarried and had another child on the way at the time we were
dragged back into court by my vindictive
ex. Her armed with Rule 32 and a well connected lawyer would
prove to much for me in the end. Because
now, the numbers look like this;
My Bring home Now
Her bring home Now
biweekly: 1st check:
$350.00
$600.00
2nd check: $430.00
$600.00
Total:
$780.00
$1200.00
Grand Total:
$780.00
$1801.66
Hmmmm, $780.00 monthly. Not even as much as they say it would
take for my son to live at my ex-wife's
house, and there are 3 people in our household. Yet she has $1765.00
monthly to live on. That being the case,
it would take $950.00 multiplied by 3 which totals, $2850.00 for us
to live (if we were just kids). We're no
where close. This is JUSTICE? THIS IS SETTING THINGS RIGHT?
THIS IS CRACKING DOWN ON
DEADBEAT DADS? THIS IS DESTROYING US!!!! THAT'S WHAT IT'S
DOING!!!! But does our
legislature care? I can't tell. We have to have help from
our families to survive and are highly considering
food stamps as a means of eating. Before I forget, she bought
a 94' or 95' Z-28. People who need money don't buy new Z-28s unless,
they have a court system that will make a person pay someone they don't
owe anything. It seems it was added into the figures somewhere.
Either officially, or unofficially in the computation and hidden words
of Rule 32. The lawyer told me, "She could have bought a Mercedes and it
wouldn't make any difference." She will get the money no matter what
you lose, family, roof, clothes, or food. You and your other children,
just don't matter.
When our court hearing was all over, I asked my
ex did she think she could live on $780.00 a month . . . . .
she has yet to respond. I wonder if the Judge who heard our case
could . . . or the lawyer she used could . . . or
the legislature who decided this atrocity could . . . or . . . could
you?
