[New!]Utah Drinking Laws

    By law, Utah applied some unique restriction to access alcohol beverages. However it is possible to purchase and enjoy alcohol in Utah. You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase or consume alcohol in the State of Utah. Alcoholic beverages may be ordered with a meal in most restaurants after 12 noon. Ask your server for a liquor menu. Mixed drinks are served at Utah's non-exclusive private clubs throughout the day. Visitors are welcome and may purchase a 2-week membership to most private clubs for $5. Taverns and lounges sell beer only. State-owned liquor stores sell packaged liquors and wines in various sizes. State "Wine Stores" provide a selection of wines from around the world. State liquor stores are closed Sundays and holidays. Beer containing 3.2% alcohol may be purchased in grocery and convenience stores.

    Different tobacco's law applied in various states. To Reduce the health risks of exposure to second-hand smoke, the Utah indoor Clean Air Act prohibits smoking in publicly accessible places, including restrooms, in public and privately-owned buildings.  Smoking is not permitted in Utah restaurants, hotel, motel, and bed & breakfast common areas, including dining rooms. lobbies, and corridors. Smoking may be allowed in designated individual guestrooms. Smoking within 25 feet of building entrances is prohibited. Look for designated smoking areas or ask the building manager where smoking is allowed.

    Utah law prohibits anyone under age 19 to purchase, possess, or tobacco, even with parental permission. It is also against Utah law to give tobacco to anyone under age 19.
