I spent a while on the Nile, where the pretty girls wink and smile
There's no denial that the Nile's the finest river I have seen
I only meant to stay for a day, but my friends wouldn't let me get away
They wouldn't let me pay for my stay, in the city on the Nile
I like walk in Egyptian lands, through the Nile delta and the desert
sands
And when I'm cold and far away, and lonely at the close of day
I like to warm my naked hands upon an open fire
You walk a while on the Nile, till you get to Cairo city
Egyptian girls smile for a while, 'cause they know you think they're
pretty
I often dream about the east, joining in some midnight feast
Or browsing in an old bazaar, wondering who you really are
Or watch the golden sun as she sets, silhouetting the mosques and the
minarets
While the men in the river cast their nets, to catch their evening
meal
Memories like this make me feel, my destiny is calling me
Back to that city on the Nile
I only meant to stay for a day, but my friends wouldn't let me get away
They wouldn't let me pay for my stay, in the city on the Nile
To climb that mighty pyramid and ponder what the pharohs did
Listen to that silent sphynx, listen to the way she links
The present to the past, but time flies by so fast
And good times never last in that city on the Nile
I spent a while on the Nile, where the pretty girls wink and smile
There's no denial that the Nile's the finest river I have seen

From the bad lands of Nebraska, to the goldfields of Alaska
Where the Rockies reach right up and touch the sky
There's a young man on a pony, on a journey long and lonely
And he's going to make it rich or at least he'll try
Chorus:
Jimmy Boy there's gold there, but Jimmy it's so cold there
It's hard work just staying alive
Jimmy won't you stay at home, there no need for you to roam
Where only the lucky survive
He left his girl behind him, down that road long and winding
To find some riches for their wedding day
It grieved him so to leave her, but he could not believe her
When she said "you might never pass this way again"
Chorus:
He made his way to Casper, through Montana, up to Jasper
Where he crossed the rocky Mountains to the sea
While others only boast, he made it to the coast
Till he came to the land where he had planned to be
Chorus:
By the autumn he pegged his claim, had a fortune to his name
But in the winter the chills, they got him bad
Though he knew that he was dying, how he wished that he was lying
With the only love that he had ever had

If it is love, when I want you near
To share with you my deepest fear
Or to wipe away my saddest tear
Then I'm in love with you
If it is love, to stand for an hour
Waiting for you in a summer shower
Or to compare you with the sweetest flower
Then I'm in love with you
CHORUS:
No matter how much I think about it
You know I just can't live without it
It's your sweet love I'm thinking of
If it is love, each time we meet
For my old heart to miss a beat
Or to feel that trembling in my feet
Then I'm in love with you
CHORUS:
It must be love, for each time you sigh
My heart just flutters, like a butterfly
My voice just stutters, each time I try
To say that I'm in love with you
CHORUS:

I can't forget the day, that I let you go away
You were once so close to me, the way we were supposed to be
I know I was to blame 7 now I will never be the same
I just hang my head in shame, When I hear your name
I need you, oh so much, I long for your touch
If I could only let you know, how much I need you so
But it's too late now, still I hope some how
I could be with you again
I was such a fool, I tried to play it cool
I set you free and now I feel the pain
I need you, oh so much, I long for your touch
If I could only let you know, how much I need you so
I was really blind, to treat you so unkind
Now that you are gone, I just can’t carry on
I've searched near and far, wondering where you are
Will I ever see you again
I was such a fool, I tried to play it cool
I set you free and now I feel the pain
You'll always be a part of me
Even though you broke the heart of me
I can't forget the day, that I let you go away
You were once so close to me, the way we were supposed to be
I know I was to blame, now I will never be the same
I just hang my head in shame, When I hear your name
I need you, oh so much, I long for your touch
If I could only let you know, how much I need you so
I was really blind, to treat you so unkind
Now that you are gone, I just can't carry on

Let's do the bossa nova, do it over and over
We can dance in the clover, till the night is over
Chorus:
Roll on you silver moon, spirit of the night
Shine on our love cocoon, with your precious light
Your wide eyed smiling face, watch my love and me
Shine on this peaceful place, give us light to see
Rest your head on my shoulder, as the air gets colder
Just want to hold yer, as the night gets older
Chorus:
I think I heard you yawning, it must be nearly morning
Twilight comes without a warning, we've been dancing all night
Chorus:

If all your tender charms and your youth flew away
If they withered in my arms, you know that I would stay
You're the only one, that I'm dreaming of
You're the only one, that I love
It's not just the way that that you walk
Or the way that you talk
But it's all of you, yes it's all of you that I love
It's not just you're pretty face
Or your charming grace
But it's all of you, yes it's all of you that I love
Between us there's a bond that time cannot sever
A love that is bound, to last forever
You're the only one, that I'm dreaming of
You're the only one, that I love
