There is a lot to say concerning these 2 proverbs; many people feel that this country and it's founding fathers were men of God. That they tried to include the principles of God in all of it's documents forming the United States of America. SOme would go as far to say that it is the main reason for this country's prosperity in it's first 225 years. Many countries throughout the world have questioned our policies. Good intentions do not always turn out the way you want. Many countries have had national policies that in their mind was right; but has certainly lead to death. Consider these examples:

  • Lord Chamberlain's appeasement policy toward Hitler.
  • FDR and Stalin at Yalta.
  • National Chinese cooperation with Communists to fight the Japanese.
  • U.S. involvement in Vietnam, Middle East, Somalia.
  • U.S. support for many different radical regimes throughout the world
  • Palestinian policy towards Israel
  • Israeli policy towards Palestinians




    There are no doubt countless others, these were just some examples. Some major problems {in my opinion} with some national policies of our own that are questionable, and NOT what this country had in mind at it's conception.

  • Removal of prayer, Pledge of Allegance, Scripture, Ten Commandments from School and public life in the name of protection of religious liberty. The threat of death now rules in our schools and streets.
  • Abortion on demand.
  • No-fault divorce was to make marriage healthier but the nation's families are unraveling at record speed reeking havoc upon the children of our land. The "normal" family now consists of Mom and her 2 kids. Any one who thinks that the breakdown of the American family has not made this country worst off, is kidding themselves.
  • The moral values for our schools and our neighborhoods are of profound importance for our nation. The philosophy in our schools now, will determine the philosophy in our near future. If that doesn't have you worried; WAKE UP!



    Again, I could go on forever. If you would like to add some of your own, feel free to email me and I will add them later. I hope you see my point. What started out as good intentions has gone wrong, terribly wrong! The outright attack on God in this country is as blatant as those who crucifed Jesus himself. They do it all in the name of our "constitution," or "freedom," or our "civil rights." Just because we, in our contsittution, allow people there God given right to religeous freedom does NOT mean that as a Nation we should not stand for something!Tha we should "exclude" God, as many are trying to do. We have gone to the extreme and we all know it, yet do nothing about it!

    All that is required for evil to reign is for good men to do nothing.

    Well, my friends, if we keep on like this, we won't have anything left to protect. Big government is NOT the answer. Our OVER involvement through out the world is NOT the answer. With the state of current events in the world, and the threat of further acts of violence on our OWN soil; why would we have more of our military outside the United States? Some people would say that this alone is a major reason {our over involvement in other countries affairs} for our current problems.

    Wouldn't you feel safer, or more comfortable if our military was actually here?



    Noteworthy speeches by some of our founding fathers



    William Penn 1701 Charter of Liberties for Pennsylvania (celebrated by the purchase of the Liberty Bell in 1751 with its inscription from Leviticus 25:10) states, "I the said William Penn doe Declare Grant and Confirme unto all . . . these following Liberties Franchises and Priviledges first Because noe people can be truly happy though under the Greatest Enjoyments of Civil Liberties if Abridged of the Freedom of theire Consciences as to theire Religious Profession and Worship. . .I doe hereby Grant and Declare that noe person . . . who shall Confesse and Acknowledge one Almighty God the Creator upholder and Ruler of the world and profess him or themselves Obliged to live quietly under the Civill Government shall be in any case molested or prejudiced in his or theire person or Estate because of his or theire Conscientious perswasion or practice nor be compelled to frequent or maintain any Religious Worship place or Ministry contrary to his or theire mind or doe or Suffer any other act or thing contrary to theire Religious perswasion And that all persons who also professe to believe in Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world shall be capable (notwithstanding theire other perswasions and practices in point of Conscience and Religion) to Serve this Government in any capacity both Legislatively and Executively . . . ."

    Imagine one of our politicians in the year 2002 actually saying this on television!

    Benjamin Franklin's charter for his Academy that became the University of Pennsylvania says, "History will also afford frequent Opportunities of showing the Necessity of a Public Religion, from its usefulness to the public; the advantage of a religious character among private persons; the mischiefs of superstition, etc, and the excellency of the Christian Religion above all others antient or modern."

    Carpenter's Hall Philadelphia, June 18-25, 1775 required all Pennsylvania delegates to the Continental Congress to take the following oath, "I ______ do profess faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ his eternal Son, the true God, and in the Holy Spirit, one God blessed for evermore; and do acknowledge the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by Divine Inspiration." Hence, Franklin would have had to take this oath to represent Pennsylvania.

    Continental Congress in September 1774 Invited a chaplain to lead the Assembly in prayer. Rev. Jacob Duche from Christ's Church in Philadelphia prayed the following prayer, "O Lord, our Heavenly Father, high and mighty King of Kings, Lord of Lords, who dost from Thy throne behold all the dwellers upon the earth, and reignest with power supreme and uncontrolled over all kingdoms, empires, and governments, look down in mercy, we beseech Thee, upon these American States who have fled to Thee from the rod of the oppressor, and thrown themselves upon Thy gracious protection, desiring to be henceforth dependent only upon Thee. . . .Be Thou present, O Lord of Wisdom, and direct the Council of the honorable Assembly. . . .Preserve the health of their bodies, the vigor of their minds. Shower down upon them, and the millions they here represent, such temporal blessings as Thou seest expedient for them in this world and crown them with everlasting glory in the world to come. All this we ask in the name and through the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Savior. Amen."

    The Continental Congress not only thanked Rev. Duche, but they themselves in the years that followed often expressed themselves in explicitly Christian ways. Consider for example their calls to the young nation for Thanksgiving and Prayers and Fasting. In March 1776, the Continental Congress agreed to the following resolution for appointing a fast: In times of impending calamity and distress; when the liberties of America are imminently endangered by the secret machinations and open assaults of an insidious and vindictive administration, it becomes the indispensable duty of these hitherto free and happy colonies, with true penitence of heart, and the most reverent devotion, publickly to acknowledge the over ruling providence of God; to confess and deplore our offences against him; and to supplicate his interposition for averting the threatened danger, and prospering our strenuous efforts in the cause of freedom, virtue, and posterity. The Congress, therefore, . . . Do earnestly recommend, that Friday, the Seventeenth day of May next, be observed by the said colonies as a day of humiliation, fasting, and prayer; that we may, with united hearts, confess and bewail our manifold sins and transgressions, and, by a sincere repentance and amendment of life, appease his righteous displeasure, and through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, obtain his pardon and forgiveness; . . .That he would be graciously pleased to bless all his people in these colonies with health and plenty, and grant that a spirit of incorruptible patriotism, and of pure undefiled religion, may universally prevail; and this continent be speedily restored to the blessings of peace and liberty, and enabled to transmit them inviolate the latest posterity. And it is recommended to Christians of all denominations, to assemble for public worship, and abstain from servile labour on the said day.

    How did we get from there; to where we are today?



    After the events of September 11, 2001 there was an unprecedented turn towards God. Our nation has included the singing of God Bless America at most public events, and bumper stickers are popping up every where with the American Flag and "God Bless America." Our National Anthem has once again brought pride back to the American people. Here are some interesting facts concerning some of our National creeds;

    Our National Anthem was written on September 14, 1814 by lawyer Francis Scott Key, and was recognized officially by Congress on March 3, 1931 by official act of Congress (36 U.S.C. Sec. 170) . The fourth stanza which is rarely sung declares,

    O! Thus be it ever when free men shall stand
    Between their loved home and the war's desolation;
    Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n-rescued land
    Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation!
    Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just;
    And this be our motto, "In God is our trust!"
    And the star spangled banner in triumph shall wave
    O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

    The Pledge of Allegiance says,
    "one nation under God." The phrase "under God" was added to the pledge that had originally been written in 1892 by a Baptist minister from Boston named Francis Bellamy. This was done by Congressional Act, Joint Resolution 243 which was signed into law on Flag Day, June 14, 1954 by President Dwight Eisenhower. At which time Eisenhower said, "In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war."

    Let me ask this, How can it be wrong to acknowledge God? How, as a Nation can we continually say that God is "unconstitutional?" Then expect Him to bless America? The Constitution that we so try to protect says religeous "freedom" not "exclusion!" There are many faiths; but only one GOD, nobody argues that. Well, almost nobody.

    How is it wrong to teach "allegiance" or "loyalty" to God or your country? Have we allowed the fact that we are an open and free society of many different cultures and ethnic backgrounds to dictate that there is no United States of America, that there is no God? How have we let this happen?



    It is never to late; just as a person needs to get right with God, so MUST a Nation. We must humbly confess to God our sins as a nation and repent. We must discover and embrace the ways of God and stop surrendering to the ways of the world.

    We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown this quickly.

    But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious Hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own, except of course when something goes wrong; then of course it is God's fault

    Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

    It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness. . . . May our Lord once again be pleased to exalt our land by restoring the reign of biblical righteousness! For indeed, "Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a disgrace to any people."
