Clinton Debt Giveaway - 9/30/99

Well, here we go again folks, president Clinton is spending your money willy nilly on a big freebie to developing nations. The president announced today that he is planning to fully eliminate all of the debt owed to the US from developing nations. This is a follow-up to the recent agreement to eliminate 90% of the amounts that these nations have borrowed from us. If you recall there was a recent stink driven by the hollywood elite for us to eliminate this debt to the poor developing nations because they can't afford to pay it back. Of course these same holywood types and the president aren't willing to use their own money for this, instead they want to use yours!

Their whole premise is that this will help the developing countries develop. Unfortunately, as with all liberal plans this plan has good intentions but will actually make things worse. The reason for this is that if we eliminate all the debt the countries owe, then we remove any incentive for them to be efficient and responsible in the future. Instead we are giving them the incentive to borrow more in the future knowing they probably won't have to pay it back!

Why can't I get this kind of deal on my home mortgage?! I would love for the president to forgive my debt so that I can develop my family finances better! Why won't this happen - because it contains no common sense, just the same as the President's plan.

Another good giveaway of you hard-earned tax dollars!! Thanks Mr. President!!

Chinagate Part II

Well, here we go folks, Chinagate has reared its ugly head again! The New York Times is reporting that US nuclear secrets were stolen by China which significantly helped them increase the capability of their nuclear missile program. In the past, China's nuclear weapons were a generation behind American designs, largely because Beijing was unable to produce small warheads that could be launched from a single missile at multiple targets.

The big news here is that the theft was discovered in 1995 and was repeatedly slowed and played down in favor of keeping good relations between the countries. By 1996, investigators had identified a suspect working at the laboratory, where the 1940s Manhattan Project developed the first atomic bomb. The Times claims the White House was told of the nuclear espionage in the summer of 1997 (yeah right, like they had no clue up to that time!), just before an important U.S.- Chinese summit meeting, which was intended to highlight the improvement of relations between the Clinton administration and Beijing. What's really amazing is that within in a year of the discovery of the theft investigators had identified the suspect working at Los Alamos, but he continued in his job with full security clearance for another year!

What I'm sure will result from all this is that Clinton will be able to brush off criticism of his delays in acting against the China espionage as just another Republican attempt to criticize him given the impeachment fiasco. This result will occur even though this an extreme violation of the trust of the American people by the Clinton administration exposing us to an increased threat of nuclear attack, folks this is nothing short of treason!

So here we have an unbelievable story about how the Clinton administration has exposed the American people to an increased threat of nuclear attack, yet nothing will happen because the American people are tired of hearing about Clinton scandals! It's easy to be a cynic given all the lies the President has told on a daily basis since he has been elected. One could easily imagine that the whole Lewinsky scandal may have been dreamed up by Clinton to create a smoke screen for this much more serious scandal - now where have I heard that before?! (hint, page down a few screens!)

Clinton to Magically boost Exports!

As shown in USA Today, Clinton has come up with a plan to boost U.S. exports given the heat he is getting as a result of the record trade defecit. My first reaction is to grab onto my wallet and I suggest you do the same! Am I over-reacting? Let's see the report:

WASHINGTON - President Clinton, concerned at the damaging effects of Asia's economic crisis on U.S. manufacturers, Saturday proposed a $108 million, three-part plan to boost American exports. Well, so much for my over-reaction, the price tag for this grand scheme is $108 million!! Let's look at the rest of the scoop:The president said his $108 million plan would result in nearly $2 billion of additional U.S. exports, which would sustain or create 16,000 high-wage manufacturing jobs.

Where does he get these wonderful numbers? He makes them up!! How can we trust anything that comes out of his mouth with all the lies over the last 8 years!! Let's look at the bogus plan: Clinton described a three-pronged approach that included boosting support for the Import-Export Bank, the federal agency that provides loans and loan guarantees to help U.S. companies sell abroad. Clinton said the bank, can use expanded credit to foster billions of dollars in exports. He proposed adding $81 million to the bank's $815 million budget.

Will someone please tell me how adding $81 million to the bank's available lending credit will increase loans for exports by $2 billion, please Mr. President, we're not that stupid and gullible any more!! What other goodies do you have for us in the package? "The President also said his proposed 2000 budget would include $25 million to create a new arm of the International Labor Organization, an agency of the United Nations, to help developing nations put in place basic protections for workers, including the right to organize."

This is the kicker folks!! Not only do our $108 million tax dollars to go fund programs that magically create $2 billion dollars in exports, along the way we get to pay for the expansion of union socialism. This is just great!! Give me a freaking break!!

Clinton and the Amazing Polls

Well, here we are with only the second president in US history to be impeached by the house and at the same time we are swamped with media reports of how high the president's polls are. What's going on here??!

The most recent poll I saw had Clinton with a 73% approval rating. In general, I have stopped believing polls ever since they said that Clinton would beat Dole by 24 points and he won by only 8. However for the sake of argument, let's put that aside and assume that the 73% approval rating is correct. First of all let's look at what the approval rating is. The question they are asking is "are you happy with the work the President is doing on his job?". The natural reaction most people have is they look around at their job situation, general economy, and stock market and they think things are in fairly good shape, therefore the President must be doing a good job, right? My first response to that reaction is to ask the question: what specific policies of the President have been implemented that have helped the economy? 9 times out of 10, the answer is that they can't think of any. So let me help a little: welfare reform? Nope, Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming all the way to reform by the Republicans. Balanced budget? Nope, the Republicans said that the budget should be balanced immediately, Clinton said in 9-12 years, thankfully, the Republicans won that one as well. Clinton's tax increase plan? The incorrect logic on this is that the plan increased taxes and therefore lowered interest rates. In actuality, several studies have shown that this actually increased tax revenue at a lesser rate than doing nothing since it discouraged tax-creating activity, and lowering taxes instead would have increased tax revenue even more because it would have stimulated tax revenue activity.

So there is no true reason to associate the great economy with Clinton because none of his policies have been implemented that would actually help the economy, and in fact his proposals would hurt the economy (remember the health care overhaul plan). Eventually, I think the American people will realize this, but for now it appears that they associate the good economy with Clinton. Hopefully they will come to the understanding that the economy really took off when the Republicans gained their majority in both the House and Senate for the first time in over 40 years! The laws are written by the House and Senate, and not by the President!! If you look at a chart of the stock market you will see that the market took off in 1994 when the Republicans took over congress, and not in 1992 when Clinton took office.

So what else has let to the 73% approval rating? Think back to President Bush after the Gulf War. The country rallied around the President and the troops and President Bush had an approval rating in the mid-80's!! Amazingly enough, it wasn't long after this that Clinton beat Bush in the 1992 presidential election - how quickly things change and people forget. This also shows that the country has euphoria after a successful military conflict and shows support for the President. This euphoria will fade with time, which is why I predict that Clinton's approval rating will also fade back into the low 60's in not too much time. In addition, when the American people finally figure out that Clinton has had very little to do with the current economy, then his approval rating will sink into the upper 30's which is the true die-hard liberal base that will support him no matter how bad he is! It's just a matter of time......

Hypocricy from the White House

It seems like the Republicans are for some reason always braded as "racists", but look at the following news article about the President trying to get voters to the polls: "Clinton, who has kept a low profile throughout the campaign, mainly confining himself to raising funds for his party, gave a series of interviews in which he urged Democrats to turn out in force. He also recorded radio spots and telephone messages encouraging blacks to vote. The interviews targeted black and Hispanic audiences, two key Democratic constituencies."

"encouraging blacks to vote"? "targeting black and Hispanic audiences"? I thought we were all Americans, regardless of our race?! The longer we continue to divide Americans into races and groups, the longer our country will remain divided. The administration is always talking about how good a job they are doing bringing the country together, and at the same time they divide us for political gain! I think this is a blatant example of the hypocricy and racism coming from the current administration! They talk about the Republicans being racist, and then make unbelievable racist statements and get away with it! Where is the media on this - I guess where they always are!! These people amaze me - give me a break!!

Issue of the week: Partisanship on Impeachment Committee = Mean Republicans?

Just saw Larry King Live where he had on 5 former and current Clinton administration officials (that's balanced reporting, huh!) and I noticed a common theme. Everyone is saying that the Congressional Impeachment Committee is being very partisan in their voting and procedures. When they make these statements, the inevitably state that the Republicans are "steamrolling" each vote on the committee and therefore have made this a partisan process in which all semblence of order and fairness has been left behind by the mean Republicans.

However, there was one fact that I picked up in the discussion which Larry quickly changed the topic on, and that is that although over half of the Democrats in Congress had voted to release the taped testimony of Clinton, NONE of the Democrats on the Impeachment Committee voted to have it released! So help me here folks, when the Democrats on the Impeachment Committee are not voting anywhere near their common sense Democrat brethren in the Congress, does this not constitute flagrant partisanship? These Dems are amazing, give me a freaking break!!

Issue of the week: What did the Chinese buy with their campaign contributions to Bill Clinton and the Democratic party?

Prior to several deals with US companies including Motorola and Loral, the Chinese "Long March" rocket was blowing up four out of five launches. Everyone knows that the stage separation technology we passed on to the Chinese through these deals has helped their rockets to be much more reliable. On the one hand this has helped Motorola install many satellites for their Iridium communications system at a low cost, unfortunately the Chinese ballistic missle system has improved as a result and the safety of the US from nuclear attack has been compromised.

This transfer of separation technology is not big news. The big news is that in addition, sophisticated MIRV technology was also given to the Chinese. This technology allows rockets to deploy more than one satellite at the same time, and where this is really scary is that it also allows the rocket to spit out more than one nuclear warhead! So we have given technology that provides the Chinese a more reliable nuclear warhead deployment!! And when the Chinese have this technology, the can, have, and will, sell technology to Iran, Lybia and other terrorist states.

So help me folks, the Loral Corporation is one of the largest, if not the largest campaign contributor to the Democratic party, and amazingly receives special waivers from the President to sell their advanced missle technology to the Chinese - does anyone else smell something fishy here!? Yes, the Reagan and Bush administrations had some waivers as well, but never for the level of technology we're talking about here!

With the help of the Bill Clinton and the Democrat Party, the Chinese now have the capability to effectively land multiple-warhead nuclear missles on US soil. Are we just supposed to hope that they have good intentions and would never to such a mean thing to us? Sounds like a risky assumption to me!! Thank you Bill Clinton, this must be part of your legacy that you're trying so hard to establish!!

Lunch with Liberals!

Yesterday I had lunch with some liberal friends of mine, and amazingly the topic of Chinese influence on the elections came up (they brought it up, not me - I'm harmless!). Their initial comments were that in reality there was no Chinese influence on the elections and that anyone who would think otherwise is either brainwashed or an extremist! Of course when I replied that it appeared obvious to me that they did influence the election, I was poo-poo'd and laughed at and told that clearly I have been brainwashed by the radical right media (wow, when did the media turn to the right? I must have missed this!).

Well, folks the Common Sense approach to the question of Chinese influence in the last election is fairly simple:

1) Do TV and newsprint adds affect voters opinions? YES!!

2) Did the Chinese funnel millions of dollars to the Democratic Party for the last election? YES!!

3) Did the Democratic party use this money for TV and newsprint adds? YES!!

You do the math!!

In my estimation the Chinese funding of the Democratic party caused a vote swing of about 3 to 4 percentage points. Not much in the scheme of things, but if the funding had not been there, some of the closer races that went Democrat might have gone Republican.

Overall, I think that when you use common sense, you clearly come to the conclusion that the Chinese influenced our previous election. Coming up next: exactly what did this money buy the Chinese?!

TV Add Blitz Snuffs out Tobacco Bill?

I saw an article in a recent US News and World report about the recent failure to pass the McCain tobacco bill in congress. The article stated correctly that 43 Republicans and 3 Democrats joined together to kill the bill in a procedural vote. The article then went on to say that "before the tobacco companies started advertising, no one saw it as a tax bill". They are referring to the approximately $50 million that was spent by the tobacco companies to tell their side of the story which essentially is that the tobacco bill was a tax bill, and had little to do with trying to keep minors from starting to smoke. In general, the Republicans have agreed with this and have begun to write legislation that would focus on preventing minors from starting to smoke. After the tobacco companies took their message to the airwaves one congressman's office received 400 calls supporting the tobacco bill - and 50,000 opposing it.

What is amazing to me on this is that whenever a conservative message (in this case avoiding tax increases) is successful, the general theme reported by the media is that the votes were "bought" by "special interest groups", and whenever a liberal message is successful, it is simply the people understanding the issue?!! Besides, I think the $50 million spent by the tobacco industry on taking their message to the airwaves pales compared to the hundreds of millions that the liberals have "spent" from the free advertising they get in the conventional media! It's just another example of a liberal double standard - when conservative messages are successful, liberals credit the success to the "ignorant" masses, but when the liberals are successful it is an informed public. Give me a break and beam me up!!

Newsflash!! VP Gore knows what is best for you and your money!

Does the VP have your best interest in mind? Check out a recent quote from the Florida Times: "Even before the first surplus runs in, some want to pour every dime into risky tax cuts or new spending we can't afford". Two comments on this. First of all, it's amazing to me that a politician would consider letting us keep more of what we earn to be Risky! Secondly, I think it would be much more risky to let the government take our money and spend it on things that we may or may not agree with, rather than we as individuals deciding how this money should be spent.

Folks, when will they realize that it's not their money!!??

Issue of the Week: Zippergate - a Democratic Conspiracy?

The more I hear about the latest Clinton scandal in the press, the more I'm in agreement with Clinton's lawyer, Bob Bennett that "I smell a rat". However, the rat I smell appears to be quite different than what Mr. Bennett describes, what is becoming more and more evident to me is that the Democrats have perpetrated this whole Zippergate scandal!

I think this possible Democratic conspiracy is all tied to the Chinagate scandal. I'm referring to the alleged significant violation of law by securing campaign financing for the Democratic party and the 1996 Clinton campaign from Chinese sources in return for political favors for the Chinese. I think that the potential that these allegations were so significant and politically/criminally damaging to the Clinton administration and the Democratic party, that they felt they had to act. And how best to deflect the inquiry and keep investigators from the real significant issues of Chinagate? Simple war room tactics: create a diversion.

And how best to create a diversion to deflect inquiry into Chinagate? Well, maybe you could start by stirring things up in Iraq and stretching it out forever by threatening to strike but never doing so, or possibly you could start leaking information regarding Zippergate and blaming it on the other side. Like all of the Clinton administration scandals, the first line of defense has been to persecute the accusers. Clearly, Clinton and the Democrats have done this with independent council Starr, but they have taken it a huge step further by claiming that there is a "Republican Conspiracy". This leads to the ultimate pinnacle of the diversion which is to create a false story about the President such as sexual impropriety that would take off in the press and create an incredible frenzy in the media. The Democrats know that eventually it would be proven that the allegations were false all along. The slickness of this plan is that as it plays out, the American people become weary and sick of hearing about it in the media, and after they hear it from the media countless times, most Americans will end up believing the claim that the whole story came from the so-called Republican conspiracy. Then they find out that the whole thing was untrue and since the Republicans were at fault, the public will be very hesitant to believe any claims of scandals in the future.

So ultimately the Democratic strategy of creating the Zippergate diversion not only gets people away from the real issues of possible criminal activity in Chinagate, it focuses people on other possible scandals and results in the ultimate blaming of the accuser by creating the Republicans as the party responsible for the whole thing! Truly amazing, isn't it?!

Newsflash!! Jan 22, 1998: Clinton denies affair with intern!

When I saw the headline for this newsflash I became suspicious of the President's overly-careful wording in his denials. Was I over-reacting? Let's check out the actual story and see:

WASHINGTON - President Clinton is denying allegations that he had a 1 1/2-year affair with a former White House intern and then encouraged her to lie about it, even though Whitewater prosecutors say they have secret tape recordings in which the woman admits both are true.

"I did not ask anyone to tell anything other than the truth." Here note that the President said that he did not ask, but he didn't say that he didn't have someone else ask.

"There is no improper rationship", the translation here appears to be that there is a relationship, but the President doesn't consider it improper using his standards. Or, it could be that there "is" not currently a proper reationship, but there was one in the past.

"The allegations I have read are not true," he told PBS's Jim Lehrer. The translation here is that the allegations that he read may not be true (who knows what he read), but he didn't rule out the possibility of future allegations that would be true.

Well there you have it, it appears that my intuition was correct!! Folks, what you have to realize is that the President is a former lawyer ans speaks with the law in mind (given the likelyhood of future lawsuits against him). Notice that when he replies to any allegations, he always gives himself an 'out' so that later when and if he is challenged on his statement, he can say something like, "well, that's not exactly what I said". So, when the President speaks, you have to look very carefully at what he actually says and then see where he is obviously giving himself an out to know what he really means.

Newsflash!! Jan 20, 1998: Gore Vows Crackdown on Racism!

When I saw the headline for this newsflash I immediately grabbed onto my wallet! Was this an over-reaction? Let's check out the actual story:

ATLANTA (Reuters) - The White House pledged a dramatic increase in funds to fight racism Monday on the U.S. holiday that honors the memory of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

Well, my intuition was correct!! Folks, anytime the democrats claim to want to "crackdown" on something, this is a code phrase for "we want to spend more of your money". So, grab onto your wallets, and just say NO!!

Send me an email if you want to know more!!
