TheMission.

Every unit in the military, no matter how large or small has a mission. The 707th Ordnance Company is no different. The main mission of the 707th Ord. Co. is to provide routine and emergency EOD support to military installations, operations, and exercises. We provide assistance to civilian and federal authorities within our assigned geographic area on a 24 hour basis.

Under our general mission we also:

  • Neutralize domestic and foreign manufactured conventional, nuclear, chemical/biological ordnance or improvised explosive devices. While ensuring all assigned personal are capable of the required response or actions at a nuclear weapons accident or incident.
  • Provide technical assistance to civiaian and federal authorities when requested.
  • Provide EOD support to the Dept of State, Dept of Defense, and Dept of Treasury (Secret Service) for Presidential, Vice Presidential, and other VIP support.
  • Provide support to Defense Logistics Agencies for disposing of explosive residue resulting from Dept of Defense contracts.
  • Conduct liaison visits with military, civilian, and federal authorities as work load permits.
  • Provide technical assistance to installation commander in matters pertaining to range clearances.
  • Present classes on ordnance recognition, bomb search, bomb threat and reporting procedures to military, civilian, and federal authorities.
  • Provide EOD support for disaster relief.
  • Perform the above missions outside assigned geographic area when directed.




Our unit's area of response covers the western side of the Cascades, from Canada to northern California. In Washington, our response area incompasses 20 counties. In the state of Oregon, we are responsible for 18 counties. Our total area of response covers 38 counties.
