Dear Senator,
Please support Kevin Andrews' Euthanasia Laws Bill
The last thing Australia needs as we approach the next century is a law that would have been considered barbaric even to those living in the last. Today we have the technology to provide terminally ill patients with a comfortable, pain free life until their illness concludes their lives naturally. If these techniques are not used by our terminally ill it is a failure of government policy, not a failure of medical technology.
The answer is to relieve suffering, not to kill the patients. Please support Kevin Andrews' Euthanasia Laws Bill in the Senate so we can put a stop to the Northern Territory's ill informed and short sighted RTI Act. Once that is done we can turn our attention to fixing the problems with palliative care provision, instead of simply sweeping them under the carpet and killing off those who complain.
