Why Lord?

(Written to comfort a friend during a time of depression.)

Jerry speaks.........

Why Lord, I cannot see

That for 3 years, You made a pastor of me

I am not worthy, Lord

Nevertheless, I began with great zeal

While waiting for You, Your will to reveal

I am willing, Lord

From my strength and my soul, I began to outpour

But still I do not see, one person more

I am discouraged, Lord

For fear that I might fail, the test

I neglected my family, my home, and all the rest

The burden is great, Lord

To my weakness, I began to give in

O what a target for Satan's darts, I have been

I fall short, Lord

The struggle has become, more than I can bare

Dear Lord, why did you put me there

I grow weary, Lord

My tired body and mind, cry out for rest

Can't You see that for this job, I am not the best

I have failed, Lord

The Lord's reply.........

If My purpose has been served, in you who are frail

Then dare you say to Me, that you have failed

Even My Son, Who is the best

Often took time off, from His ministry to rest

Rest My little one, rest

( Moral: God does not ask us to be the best, just to do our best.)
