In Ontario, a Provincial Offenses Officer enforces provincial statutes, such as Provincial Offenses Act, Highway Traffic Act, etc. Many Municipal By-law Enforcement Officers are sworn in as a Provincial Offenses Officer, as municipal by-laws & provincial statutes often overlap.
