Some books that will help you do better on the SAT

These books include further practice tests and information on the strategies ETS uses to write the test. The Princeton Review Book is entertaining and lets you into the mind of the test-makers. ETS itself puts out copies of old tests in Real SATs. Both are helpful, but the Princeton Review is more helpful to those who have not taken the SAT before. Book cover Cracking the SAT and PSAT: With Sample Tests on CD-ROM The Princeton Review is a tutoring service for the SAT. In the book, they show the faults of the SAT and explain many techniques for raising scores and confidence during the test. On average, their course has raised scores by 140 points. I read through the book before taking the PSAT, and felt much more prepared than I thought I would. It also comes with a CD-ROM with more practice tests.

Book cover10 Real SAT's ETS, the makers of the SAT, have printed a book presenting 10 recent SATs and 2 recent PSATs for practice purposes. These tests are obviously the closest tests to the current SAT. Anyone serious about raising their scores needs to practice, and this book is the best source. I took several practice tests before I took the SAT and consistently raised my scores.

Book cover100 Sat Math Tips, & How to Master Them Although I have not read this book, I have heard good things about it. This book would be especially useful for the test taker who is feeling overwhelmed about the math portion of the SAT.
