The amazing flash pots without flash powder!

Well actually i don't know what these things should be called but not to worry. These things use meal powder and magnesium to create a short lived, bright flash aproximatly 2 feet high.

What you're going to need:

2 teaspoons of homemade ballmilled meal powder

2 teaspoons of medium magnesium fillings

a film canister

some fuse

How to do it:

These things are incredibly simple, so even the newest newbie could make one.

First take your film canister and drill a 1/8th(or whatever your fuse diameter is) hole in the side at the bottom. Now take your piece of fuse and put it in the hole you just drilled. You should use a piece of fuse at least 7 or 8 cm long depending on how fast it is. You should have about 4 or 5 cm extending outside the canister with the fuse properly pushed through. You will probably have to look at the diagram below to see what i mean.

Next get your teasoon of meal powder and your 2 teaspoons of Mg and put them into an air tight container and shake for a minute or so. Now pour this slowly onto of the meal charge in the film canister.

Now all you need to do is put the lid on the film canister and your ready to go! I've got a picture of one of these going off that I'll post soon.
