German Pzkw. 38(t) "Hetzer" Tank

Jagdpanzer

The German Pzkw. 38(t) was produced from April 1944 to May of 1945. The tank-destroyer had a fighting weight of 15,7250kg and a crew of 4. The main gun was a 7,5cm PAK 39 L/48 with a top mounted MG-34 or MG-42. The Praga AC/2 6-Cylinder 160hp engine powered the tank up to the speed of 42km/h on roads or 15km/h cross-country. The German Hetzer Tank shown above was found in Germany in 1998 after years of post-war anti-tank range training. This photo was taken just after arrival in a local scrap yard. The roof and most of the right side armor of the tank are completely missing. Several road wheels and the complete right side track are also missing. Multiple entrance holes were noted throughout the tank. Although this tank did not go to the QuestMasters Museum, it is a good example that WWII memoribilia still exists in the "rough".
