Actinomerius alternifolia
This member of the Daisy family sports yellow flowers with rays that recline backward from a mop-like center. The numerous flower heads have globe-shaped, loosely flowered disks and irregular rays that are 1/2 to 1.25 inches (1.3 to 3.2 cm) long. The leaves are rough and their bases continue down the stem as wings. Plants range from 3 to 7 feet (91 to 213 cm) tall and is common in thickets and borders. Flowers bloom in August and September.
