This bright member of the Gentian family sports a pyramidal inflorescence of 1 inch (2.5 cm) bright, rose-pink, fragrant flowers with a central yellow eye bordered with red (characteristic of all marsh pinks). The leaves and flowering branches are opposite. The stem is 4-angled. Plants reach a height of 1 to 3 feet
