Purple Phacelia


Phacelia bipinnatifada

This member of the Waterleaf family, sports purple, ½ inch (1.3 cm) wide, bellshaped flowers with a white center and long stamens. The leaves are pinnately divided with deep serrations. Plants reach 1 to 2 feet (30 to 60 cm) in height and is frequent on slopes and ledges with deep leafmold. Flowers bloom in April and May.
