Large Yellow Wood Sorrel


Oxalis grandis

This member of the Wood Sorrel Family sports yellow, 5 petalled, flowers ½ to ¾ inch (1.3 to 1.9 cm) long atop cloverlike leaflets. Leaflets measure 1- ¼ to 1- ½ inches (3.2 to 3.8 cm) across often with purple margins. Plants range from12 to 24 inches (30 to 61 cm) in height and is frequent in rich, moist woods with flowers blooming in June.  This species is very similar to the Yellow Wood Sorrel Oxalis europaea but differs primarily in size.
