Japanese Honeysuckle

Lonicera japonica
This member of the Honeysuckle family has fragrant, tubular, white flowers that turn yellow with age. The flowers are 1/2 inch (3.8 cm) long with a 2 lipped, 5 lobed corolla with long, curving stamens projecting from the flower. The opposite, ovate, untoothed, evergreen, and hairy leaves grow up to 3 inches (7.5 cm) long. The vine also has hairs on the stem. The vine is frequent in thickets, roadsides, and woodlands. Flowers appear from April to July and occasionally into the fall months.
