A cooperative effort between Chris Grall, John Keane, Ilkka Tahvanainen, and Kim Simmelink.

FORWARD
-------
This cooperative "freeware" effort is dedicated to all those who have gone before, who have made the conscious decision to provide quality aircraft for the enjoyment of all, without seeking monetary gain from this hobby. After all the enjoyment must come from what you give not from what you get. In the course of this project I have had the opportunity work with some neat individuals, we have shared ideas, and helped each other over the rough spots. It has been a wonderful experience. I hope we can work together again. We would also like to acknowledge whose original .afx file provided the seed for this aircraft. Although the final aircraft contains very few parts from his original work, it did serve as our inspiration. Finally this aircraft is dedicated to all the flight simmers out there, may this encourage you to join together and created aircraft of your own, making the files available to all, for the love of the hobby. *KBS*

TECHNICAL STUFF

Boeing claimed the 777 project was customer driven from the beginning. During 1988, it formed a group of eight prospective customer airlines covering the widest geographic area. Comprised of United, American, Delta, British Airways, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways this group helped shape the performance requirements and even had personnel working with the design teams. Boeing formally launched the 777 program on 10/29/1990, committing the company to deliver the first aircraft to United in mid-1995.
United had placed the initial order on 10/15/1990 specifying 34 firm orders and a further 34 options. This was part of the largest order in aviation history, valued at 22 billion for the 777s and up to 60 747-400s. Interestingly enough the order for the 777s did not include the folding wing tip, an option originally requested by United for operation from its DC-10 gates at Chicago Ohare. The 777 entered service with United on 6/7/1995 with an inaugural flight from London to Washington DC.
