Finally we have some pictures of my other sister Sara. Sara (13,
the middle one) came to visit in February 99 for a long skiing weekend
and had the most wonderful time. We were going to go to Winter Park
(where I had taken Morgan, 15, the year before) but couldn't find any hotel
rooms so we stayed at the Alpen Hutte Lodge Youth Hostel in Silverthorne,
which is one of the nicer YHA's I have ever stayed in (I've stayed in many
so take my word for it). From there we skiied 2 days at Abasin and
one day at Breckenridge, where Sara had a free all-day lesson courtesy
of my Colorado Card points.

Sara at Arapahoe Basin on day 1.
When we left my house she asked why I was making her wear my spare pair
of goggles. As you can see, it didn't take her long to realise that
she really needed them! |

The happy sisters.
We had a wonderful weekend. This photo was taken on our last day
when they had some kind of Winter Fest thing going on at the base lodge.
We ate lots of free cheese and yogurt, got free phone cards, and had our
photo taken inside a Babybel cheese wedge. They made it into a fridge
magnet right on the spot, so we gave it to our mother.

Sara doing really well on the steep stuff. Before this trip she
had only skiied a few days in the Poconos. She couldn't believe how
steep the greens and blues were. At the begining of the first day
she said she was never going to go down a blue, but we soon put and end
to that! |

Sara looking like a pro, after only 2 days of lessons, and one of those
days was a lesson from me! She really did improve tremendously in
3 days and was even learning to do bumps. I, for one, was most impressed. |

Here is me in action. Sara did really well with the camera, she even
caught me in mid-air which I failed to to when I tried to photograph her
going over the same jump. Hummm, I think I need to pratice my jumping
technique....... |
Another glorious day at A-basin.
Sara practially had the whole slope to herself here.
