Hepatic Artery

The hepatic artery comprises the liver's arterial blood supply. The liver actually has two blood supplies: the hepatic artery, which supplies oxygenated blood to the liver's cells; and the portal vein, which brings in blood to be processed and sent out the hepatic veins, which lead to the inferior vena cava.
