| PHILOSOPHY The faculty of Coral Ridge Training School believes that each student and each educator is a unique individual with inherent rights, privileges and dignity. To honor and establish these beliefs, they should be mutually recognized during the learning-teaching process and a rapport shall be developed between student and educator. In order to promote personal growth and fulfillment, we will provide an unbiased educational environment to prepare students to function in a myriad of health care settings. We believe that education is a basic need, a continuous process through which each individual gains new knowledge and skills to improve reasoning and judgmental abilities. Learning is most effective when new knowledge and skills are put to immediate practice. Therefore, the program is planned to correlate theory with clinical experiences. Coral Ridge Training School offers a competency based instructional programs. A continuous evaluation process is a component of competency based instruction and is a valid tool utilized to measure student and teacher effectiveness. Self-evaluation is a tool that students are encouraged to employ to challenge them toward greater progress and personal growth. Motivation is a dire importance in learning. Therefore, learning through this individualized approach enhances the students to utilize their own creativity and abilities, which ultimately serves as a catalyst toward maximum self-growth. These concepts are explicitly defined in the framework for each level of instruction to assist the student to assimilate methods used to meet the students learning needs. We believe each patient is a unique individual with inherited rights, privileges and dignity. The patient represents a group of all ages from infant to the aged (geriatric) persons, and exhibits a diversity of diagnosis and severity of illness. The Health Care provider must assess and care for each patient utilizing the nursing process and the holistic approach, taking into consideration the physical, physiological, mental, emotional, cultural and spiritual aspects in meeting the basic needs of each patient. |
