| PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT The Mission of the Nursing Assistant Program is to provide education and skills to individuals who have demonstrated desire and ability to provide basic health care services to patients in need. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE This program is designed to provide education to student on basic patient care skills that would enable them to secure employment providing health care in the nursing home. The Nurse�s Assistant will require education in Home Health Services to provide care for patients in their homes. The Nurse Assistant assists nurses to care for patients in health care facilities. He or she performs basic nursing functions under the supervision of a nurse: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). CAREER OPPORTUNITIES A Nurses Assistant is qualified to seek employment in nursing homes and retirement homes. It is a highly demanding occupation. They work under the supervision of the Nurse, Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). |
